So I ordered my nic (I went with nude nicotine this time...change is good), a couple more syringes and needles, some premade fancy coils, and some amber bottles. I have another cart filled with one more mod and a few more dropins and RTAs. I’m kind of waiting on a code but I really just want to be done. I’ve been obsessed with shopping now for two weeks and I need to focus on my kid, cat, house and football. I’m not worried now though. My addiction is safe and I’ve one upped the government. You can pry my vape from my cold dead hands.

Is there a definitive answer to the plastic v glass storage for nic? I've just got another order of 100mg/ml 100 percent PG nic in a plastic bottle. Should i decant into glass? I always have in the past but should I now?
Not a definitive one, no. My freezer samples in PET plastic are holding up quite well. Note that PET is the only kind of plastic I've tested, and it's likely more impervious to oxygen than, say LDPE. And even in PET that's never been opened vs. glass that's been decanted (same batch of nic), the stuff decanted into glass is holding up marginally better at room temperature.

Bottom line: I recommend playing it safe and decanting into glass for long-term storage. But if you don't have your glass bottles ready when you receive your nic, put the nic in the freezer (or at least the fridge) in whatever plastic you receive it in until you do. Do not leave it sitting around at room temperature longer than necessary. Do let it come up to room temperature before opening it to decant though.

Thanks. Amber glass bottles on way. Unopened pet container in fridge since mailman.

I feel in my bones that vape hardware is just another inevitable domino to fall. Maybe months timescale, maybe more but we've seen how fast they move when the (social) media pressure gets big.
Yep, you can pretty much count on none of the hardware we've come to know and love meeting muster with the FDA's PMTA process.

That said, I'm farily confident there will be Chinese vendors willing to sell you hardware. The question is, what fraction is it make it thorough customs?

I would also guess that there will be specialty shops that will be selling hardware labeled "For MJ only, not for tobacco products!" -- oh the irony!

I've always kept a minimum of at least 2 years worth of liquid and hardware just in case. And I make it a habit to buy discontinued/clearance items that work well for me in bulk due to the massive savings. But with Romney having a bill to also ban refillable setups and restrict e-cigs to things like the Mojo (non-refillable closed systems that are disposable) I started stocking up on more. Regardless of what the FDA does next year, with the current fake crisis going on, there is a good chance that bill will pass before then. It would go into effect 90 days after being passed, which means stocking up now would be better than waiting until then as I can see hoarding and shortages happening in those 90 days.

This is my stockpile so far:
Tanks:
8 Aspire Triton Mini's + 11 glass replacements
8 Smok M17's + 11 glass replacements

Coils:
95 Aspire Triton Mini coils
(each lasts me about 2-3 weeks or more)

164 M17 coils
(each last me about 30 days @ 12 hours a day based on the one I use just for work)

We do not use flavors, so the coils tend to last awhile. I figure I have enough coils for at the very least 7+ years for the both of us, not including probably another 3.5 from cleaning them... so say 10.5+ years.

12 Vape Bands (being paranoid, I will be using 3, one in the middle and one on each end)

Batteries/Battery mods:
4 Smok Majesty 225w (if/when the crap hits the fan I will switch to reserving these for when the ones below are all dead as I can get 18650 batteries at any time). I might get the $9.99 ModShield's for each of those, but I am not certain if they would really protect anything.

I will store these in freezer in ziploc bags with silica gel packets:
6 e-leaf 10W isticks
5 e-leaf 30w isticks
8 Smok Priv17 60W

Liquid:
1 gallon +.5L propelyne glycol (can always get this and VG in the future)
3.5L 100mg -100% VG, in freezer
2.0L 100mg -100% PG, in freezer (I usually get 100% VG, but got some PG as the general consensus seems to be that PG might last longer. So I will save these for last).

I also have my apocalypse stash:
-a large 1 gallon bag of really old stuff like Nova's and several other old ones with previously used but cleaned coils.
-a couple of very old odd battery mods (a pipe and a roughstack).
-a 1 gallon bag of completely broken parts/atty's/ego batteries/pass-through's/battery mods (I might be able to piecemeal, glue, or solder some into working order).

Where I am pretty sure that I am lacking:
Liquid: 1L 100mg lasts us about 14 months, with only 5.5L of liquid that will only last about 6+ years for the two of us. This is where I feel uncomfortable. I want more but I am concerned it will go bad, but I see some of the forum users have stockpiled 10-15 years. I'd like at least another 5 years worth (4L+) to match my stocked up hardware life, but I am just nervous.

Battery mods: I cannot really get anymore eleaf's or Priv's than what I have as they will die before I even get to use them. (I like those because they are lighter/smaller than a big clunky Majesty). Once my eleaf's and Priv's die, I only have 4 Majesty mods to get me by, if they fail I am screwed.

Any thoughts/suggestions on my stockpile? Especially concerning stocking more liquid than what I currently have? Has anyone used a ModShield and are they worth it? Has anyone who has used a Majesty 225w had them fail and if so how long did it last? (One that I have is about 2-3 years old, that is why I got 3 more). Do you have any suggestions for other 18650 mods that are cheap and reliable? Are there any good single 18650 mods out there (just one battery so it's smaller... I had a half dozen Z-max that used a single 18650 that all went bad within a rather quickly and some Z-max that were 18350 and more than half of those went bad pretty fast as well).

For a while there I was obsessed with my REO and only squonked even though at the time I worked at a vape shop. I’d bring it to work and the customers looked at it like it was alien technology o_O
I remember walking into vape shops with my squonkers 4-5 years ago (well before squonking really took off) and getting puzzled looks. "How does that work?" Pull the cap off the RDA, demonstrate squonking action. "Wow, that's like dripping but without the hassle!"

Buy more nic! All evidence to date indicates it will last indefinitely if properly stored (glass bottles, in the freezer). There is no clear consensus on whether PG or VG nic lasts longer. Kurt, the resident chemist seemed to think it would be better long term in VG due to its higher viscosity (especially at freezer temperatures), but I've not seen any real difference in my tests. I've got some of both and I might be able to give better answers 10 years from now.

I'm much less concerned about hardware. See my post immediately above yours.

But once you get into the rhythm of it, and I suppose even moreso figure out your favorite build, it does become quite natural to use. I find solace in the fact I was satisfied with them before, even though I am not looking forward to having to tinker again.
I live for the tinkering ! ( and the nic)

I still get the same reaction at the local vape shop when I walk in with a squonker. Which is what I usually walk in with.

The aegis solo 100w mods are popular. I’ve got a few and they are shock proof and water resistant. I love mine. Maybe you could get some rebuildable RTAs.

Just stay away from the Shinyitis thread or you'll end up with some squonkers in your stockpile. It happened to me. :D

@BigPappa, I am not sure storing mods in the freezer is a good idea but I am sure others here have more knowledge about that.
The reason for freezing them is that I did some quick research on batteries and this is what I found:

The typical estimated life of a Lithium-Ion battery is about two to three years or 300 to 500 charge cycles, whichever occurs first.

Storing batteries in freezer at 40% charge vs 100%:
...........40% charge.............100% charge
0°C......98% (after 1 year)....94% (after 1 year)
25°C....96% (after 1 year)....80% (after 1 year)
40°C....85% (after 1 year)....65% (after 1 year)
60°C....75% (after 1 year)....60% (after 3 months)

I was hoping packing them in plastic bags with silica gel packets would protect the electronics...

Does anyone else think this is a bad idea?

Ok my first impression with Kayfun 2019. Vape reminds me of the Berserker. I'm not sure about flavor yet, I have some mango and sweet cream in it and it is very light, so not tasting much. I put the extension top fill part on it and having major leaking filling.

Fixed the leaking! So that is good :)

I'm getting more flavor out of the KF 2019, I think the coil needed breaking in a bit. I really like the Zenith :)

Glad you solved the leak and are liking it now. I've never vaped Beserker but my initial impression of the KFL 2019 was that it was a noticeably warmer vape then any other KFL or RTA I've used. It took me a while to 'warm' up to it and like it.

Question for Aegis Solo users: If you use an RTA with it, what RTA are you using? Just ordered a couple for my wife and myself. I'm not interested in a drop in coil tank and since the Solo is wider than any of our mods, I'm thinking something other than a 22mm RTA would be more appropriate to top it off.
