Well my main stocking up credit card got hacked this morning. I just got off the phone disputing the charge and asking for a replacement credit card. Based on "someone" telling me MVS was involved in a hack I was kind of expecting this but... I wasn't expecting it the day after I activated a new credit card. Granted they sent me a card with the same 16 digit numbers but the confirmation code would have been different so I really don't know how they got a purchase through.

Glad this happened now that I'm "done" stocking up and not right in the middle of my buying frenzy.

My HV order that I placed late at night on the 13th just got a shipping confirmation email.
Me too! Tracking not showing it's been sent yet but USPS is how mine's getting shipped. (Free shipping)

Not too shabby given how they were likely slammed with orders.

There's a service online that you can use to mask your credit card # for online purchases. You give them your credit card #, they mask it with another #, then you have so much time to use it or something like that. plus there maybe a limit on the purchases and amounts per masked # because it is the free version (they have a paid version).

    Can't remember the service, though.

Of course, you have to trust that they don't get hacked lol. What a world we live in. But still, all credit card companies I've ever had offer stellar fraud protection. I think they all have to.

With capital one you can use their Eno plugin to get per-vendor pseudo card numbers.

On Android, the Kiwi browser is Chrome-based, can run Chrome extensions (which don't work on the actual Google Chrome for Android). I use Kiwi for Eno and the Honey extension.

I also received my last two Athenas from vapenw. This makes four. With the Topside Lite and Black Mosaic Luna still to get here, Lord help me if I buy any more. I think I’ve been grief shopping. The thrill is gone, but my tubs are full and I’ve got enough nic. Period. Dot. End of discussion. Lol.

I’ve also still got a couple FT orders en route. Those I will be glad to get. I’ve been insecure about RDAs. I’m pretty gentle with my stuff, so what I have should last.

Hope everyone is having a good day. Been a chore day for me. But I am grateful to do them. :)

I avoid MVS, every time I used it in 2016 my card got hacked. So I don't shop there anymore.

The Athena is a user maintainable squonk. Reasonably straight forward to disassemble for cleaning or replacing the 510 or contacts.

I picked up a couple for long term stash. The RDA is a PIF item for me, but the basic mod is decent.

I’ll be keeping the RDAs but as a part of the stash. I bought them on the word of the good people here recommending them for that price on vapenw. The hand feel is good. Thank you for the video :)

PIF stash isn't a knock, it just means they don't fit my vaping zone (restricted DL). I don't PIF things that I don't think are good [emoji3]

101vape has the tarot baby kits at $20 now.
Oh, no worries my friend, I understood that :) I’m just paranoid and want to keep everything. I haven’t even checked the deck on those. Lol. :)

You guys are talking about my vapor store in NY right?

Yes since no one answered. I've had great luck with them as a vape supplier over the years but apparently their security system isn't so great. Wish they'd add Paypal so I could do it that way.

*ETA* I just sent them an email saying that my whole thread thinks they're an unsafe vendor. I await their response tomorrow.

Paypal and every 3rd party processor have been banned by the large banks for vape transactions for at least 6 years now. That's why no USA vendor uses PP or any other processor, unless they are new, in which case they will get slammed sooner or later.

PP is still allowed to take vape payments in China and many other countries, though.

USA is a great, yet backward country.

I think it's good that you contacted them, but no vendor will ever own up to it because there are so many ways your card account could have gotten hacked. And, as far as I know, there is no way for anyone to prove 100% that it was transacting on their site that caused your card to be defrauded. So they'll be like, yeah, OK.

This is why I feel fortunate enough to have a good credit card that has my back and I only use my CC when paying online. For Chinese purchases, I only use Paypal - never credit card directly.

I never use debit cards online. As far as I know, you don't have anywhere near the protections you do with a credit card and you don't have the ability to do chargebacks should it be needed.

And remember, just because your Antivirus software says your computer is "clean", it does not mean it actually is clean.
