yes and no,, because eventually j6p cant or wont hold up the ladder that supports the ceo
So what? Then that is the board's decision to deal with. Most of the time a CEO's pay is based on performance of the company. Base pay plus a bonus. Either way it's noone's business what anyone gets paid. If someone doesn't like it they can leave.Your life is your responsibility. Workers whining about what a CEO is paid is childish envy and jealousy.

That's a lie and you know it. People can move or do what is necessary. To many people worry about keeping up with the Jones's instead of trying to improve their own situation. They want someone else to care of them.

I have an easier time trying to read Chinese than understanding financial/stock market talk.
i think its hard for most people,, they werent exposed to it in school.. the media fills the headlines with so much bs about investing that your head spins off.

i started in the late 90's,, got my head and .... handed to me during 911,,, i didn't blame bears/shorts like 99% of the other bulls/boars did,, instead i sat down, shut my mouth and watched them,, i never wanted to take that beating again,, ever!

its not a lie,,,,
i grew up poor on a farm,, girls had little opportunity unless they went to the city. i had to drive to the city and save money and make plans etc.

as i travel around america on road trips i see isolated communities,, they will always be poor,, good salt of the earth people,, but never exposed to what could be theirs,,

yes,, many people squander away their futures on stupid things they dont need to end up stopping them from a better future.. but that cant be a blanket statement for everyone.

as for your theory ceo's get paid appropriately by the board of directors,, well thats like a banker deciding how much of todays deposits should go into his pocket. -----basically a room of pigs at the trough,, while the worker bees are discouraged at lack of proper tools to do the job they are under paid for.

undercover boss.

Gotta disagree also Don. As the population grows the opportunities that were readily available when we were young are becoming fewer and farther between. Looking back, we have so many chances to choice from, choosing was sometimes difficult. As more people enter the job market and the stock market and the companies become top heavy eventually that weight will cause the foundation to collapse. Then no one will win.

If an employee feels they are under paid they can leave. That is their choice.

I don't occasionally fight with everyone. When people make ridiculous statements they deserve to be called out. Not everything is equal and it never will be. It's noone's business what anyone else gets paid.

Self made here also. Born poor, decided at an early age to get out and find a better life. Worked hard all my life, sometimes working 2 jobs to get what i have now. Learned how to play the game so as to beat them at it. Can't play the game unless you understand all the variables involved. I too travel quite a bit(retired now) and see same as what you see. No one wants to do what it takes to get ahead. Wants the gov to pay for everything. It is what they see when they are growing up and follow in their parents footsteps, never having an ambition to better themselves. Sad really.

If a company is top heavy then the company deserves to collapse. The guy working in the mailroom has no authority to say what the CEO is making. There are opportunities all over if people are willing to take them. It also depends on the quality of the work being done. There are so many people that are working minimum wage jobs that, based on their work quality, should be happy to be getting that.

i will agree that if an employee does low quality work,, he is getting paid exactly or more than he is worth.

How many times have you gone into a business and say to yourself "Why are they still working here?" I have quite a bit and in that case most of the time it's a management problem. Poor training and lack of expectation. I won't go back to those places.

I would much prefer to give an employee a bonus if their work is beyond and above, than just to have a warm body occupy a position. I know, there are quota's to fulfill but when does it become too much?

Then they should be fired IMHO. No need to pay for substandard work. But I truly believe most people, not all, but most work to the best of their ability and should be compensated justly.

Also if that same employee consistently shows great performance they deserve higher wages.

i am an 'extreme tipper' when i eat out,, there is this one,, that no matter the time of day,, we get this one waitress who will knowingly serve you cold coffee,, so we leave if we get seated in her area. and everytime we get seated in someone elses area we get great service and hot coffee,, and they get a very good tip. i have talked to the mgr about this,, but he doesnt really care. the only reason i eat there every now and then is because the cook does a really good job on 2 items i want to eat.
