I bought a sewing machine a few weeks ago and been learning how to use it. Making Olson masks for the family.

This morning I heard that the White House is now confirmed infected with the virus, so I made Trump a couple masks. I just need to find more elastic and they'll be on their way to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Nice job but he wont wear them. Maybe if you make a hole for the mouth so he can talk uninhibited he would.

That would actually be a hilarious gag to send him masks with holes at the mouth. Thanks for the idea.

BTW: those masks are made from cheap 3' x 5' flags made in China about 15 years ago. To my surprise, when I washed them, the colors didn't run. I thought for sure the flags would come out faded and with light purple white stripes. But nope. The water that came out of the washer was crystal clear.

Thanks. These flags were $2 each - they don't have a tag. But if I look close enough, I swear I can make out elements of the Chinese flag when I look at the red stripes. :D

Random Nic Storage Question: If I were to theoretically stow some nic in freezer safe mason jars and once the nic got good and chilled and while I happen to be opening the jars and checking that the contents were indeed good and chilled, Some Random Dude walked by holding a pan of melted beeswax, tripped on the cat (not that I actually own a cat) and the melted wax slurped all over the open nic jars sealing them off from every oxygen atom in the room, would that be a bad thing?

LOL. I can't answer the good or bad question. But if you store your nic in mason jars, they don't have to be the freezer safe variety because nic base does not expand. In fact it does the opposite, it retracts or shrinks or whatever the word is. Freezer safe jars are design to not crack when the contents expands in so using them for nic base would serve no purpose.

But I have a question for ya...does beeswax float on top of nic base?

@SlowTalker . . .

FYI:

A great thread to ask your original question and find out even more information concerning Storage of NIC is here:

Nic Base Storage: Freezer vs. Room Temp Experiment

IMHO - Even though there are a number of people who can answer most questions Ya' have - If anyone should know, it would be @Rossum . . . Just Sayin' . . .

stuck in a squishy pod called my brain
Went snooping around,,,

After visiting a few sites, decided to go with ecciggity,,, luxotic kit (w atty) $35 on clearance + shipping,,, then applied code " CLEARANCE" my shipped total $22

I dont care about the atty, yes i will have to fix the leaky pin & replace bottle with silicone bottle i already have,,, &cut off the metal feed tube,

Recently dropped my resin squonk,,, slowly killing those off,,, just another criteria in the future,, no plastic mods unless I am wanting the parts,

Read that thread, and just about every nic storage thread I could find. Maybe someone could move my boo-boo to the appropriate place. Sorry about that.

I think I would be more concerned about what would happen when you poured hot wax into a frozen/cold glass jar. Mason jars are tough, but I wouldn't trust the temperature shock not to break or crack the glass. I think the wax jelly toppers are done when the jelly is still hot/warm and there is not so much temperature difference between the wax and the jelly.

I would also ask one of the ECF chemists if they think the wax might absorb some of the nic over time.

I decided that "for me" trying to evacuate every bit of air wasn't a big deal. If I'm dipping from the same bottle over time, even if the base flavor changes, I'm not likely to notice the gradual change. I don't think I'l be using the stuff for the next 50 years, but I think I'll be OK for whatever time I have to use it.

Uh, first, don't open it until it's up to room temp. It will draw a lot of water out of the air into the nic.

Second, if it's filled to nearly the top, not much air to start with - but more (fresh) air each time you open it.

Third, if your mason jar has a good seal, no "new" air is getting in. So, imo, nothing to be gained. (And the hot wax on cold glass really could be a problem, as is the question about whether or not it floats on nic. Maybe a search on specific gravity of beeswax, PG or VG, don't know how you got your nic.)

Fourth, get a cat :)

From everything I've read, as long as you fill the bottle most of the way (no nic in contact with the plastic cap), and tighten the cap decently, you should be good. There's not enough oxygen in the small space at the top of the bottle to have significant effect.

A couple of us have also added a ring of self-fusing silicone tape around the bottle cap and bottle neck. That way the bottle cap won't unscrew without conscious effort (cut the tape). It's available in both black and white, multiple suppliers, handy for other home projects.

https://www.amazon.com/Rescue-Tape-Self-fusing-Silicone/dp/B086R1KHVM

You put tension on it when applying (it stretches).

Not sure about that one. Looks like I'll have to run some tests. Unless there is someone out there with some beeswax they're not using who wouldn't mind taking one for the team....?
Look around hives swarming with murder hornets. My guess is those bees wont be needing their wax anymore.

Haven't ordered anything vape related lately but I sure have been on a spending spree. Gotta chill out soon, just paid my "for use" credit card off that should stop me in my tracks.

My newest quarantine hobby is cleaning. First it was my bathroom, then every single pair of sneakers I have that had visible dirt, then my desk. Going to finish off my room this weekend if I even make it that long. Then all I really have is my car left. Poor things being neglected I haven't washed it in months that's no way to treat a 2019.

Selling some sneakers on Ebay as well and giving away a lot of clothes once the donation places open back up.

Got shipping on my new Alchemist mod. It's due by Saturday, but I really expect it'll make it here Thursday or Friday.

Two other small orders are coming from China, one has made it to JFK, the other should show in the US in about 10 days.

My non vaping buy, a new laptop, will probably hold off until year-end or first quarter next year. I have an ancient Dell Vostro 1500 which is finally due to go away, but with USB 4 coming out late this year I think I'll wait. I'd been looking at an ASUS A15 TUF 506IV, hopefully they'll come out with a USB 4 version for their next release.

(I'm not a gamer, but given how long I hang onto computers I try to get a reasonably solid configuration when I do buy one. Our desktop computer, in the den, was replaced a couple years ago.)

The really nice sounding new coffee beans arrived today, looking forward to roasting tomorrow morning [emoji3]
