I suspect, when everything shakes out, there will be places where smokers can get ecig products but they won't convert as many. What's being destroyed is the family neighborhood vape shop. No alcohol is sold on those premises. The people driving away are sober. There's something to be said for that. I wonder if heavy drinkers are under or over represented among vapers.
I know when our vape shop closed here I had to assist an elderly gentleman here in town who was totally dependent on that vape shop. Many thanks to several people here on ECF that donated gear to help me doing that. That stuff + a couple mods etc from my stash and I have him setup. I did have to explain eliquid to his wife though. She just did better with recipes. She was happy to do it for him to keep him off the stinkies.

Put it this way he didn't know how to change the coil in his tank. They did it for him in the shop. So although he had been vaping for a couple years he was basically a newbie.

I get why our shop closed so early (Feb I think it was). EVALI killed their business and COVID finished the job. They got out from under their lease when they could. I just really hate that it happened that way.

I suspect lease commitments are making the decision for many shops and online retailers. Some may continue doing business until they are stopped as a means to pay the rent for as long as possible.

The online shops announcing they're closing seems to be a death march right now that I expect we'll see more of in the next week. The slow, painful demise of a life saving industry in the United States.

All these businesses will have different situations, lease, debt, competition... A few may own their buildings and hang around to see what happens. The ones that are financially marginal will close first. I was looking forward to helping lots of people start vaping, a faint hope now.

I was in a store next door to a vape shop 2 days ago. Looked business as usual, no signs about closing, going out of business, sale...nothing.
If I was running that kind of store I wouldn't want to discuss the subject with customers. What can they do except stop coming in because of a negative vibe? If they were having a clearance sale things might be different. I bet most shops have their eliquid on consignment, which they can return if necessary. It doesn't have to cost a ton of money to have a nice little vape shop unless you're going fancy schmancy and want to have a lot of hardware on display.

It's totally up to me...

That was a very, very rudimentary explanation of the CBT triangle and a) it is possible (for me at least) to hold two contradictory (or even more) thoughts at once, thoughts do not SOELY determine feelings, then actions, you can intervene at any point, not to mention beliefs, brain chemistry, self care and a whole bunch of other stuff.

I'm happy that YOU were able to live in the time you did and amass vape gear, as I am happy for myself, as well. I'm also happy I did not live in the times where I would have been given a frontal lobotomy instead of psych meds and lived my life inside an institution. I am sure further on down the line, people will be very grateful genetic errors can be fixed in a MUCH less rudimentary way than mere pills. Or whatever.

But look, YEAH we can be happy, we can be sad. We can be ambivalent. We can have a keen sense of social justice and societal injustice, we can be warriors for a cause or we can sit at home and feel "glad" that "I have what *I* need to be happy."

I'm glad you are feeling so unabashedly chipper.

Were I to feel that way, entirely, I believe I would have concerns about my *values* and *priorities" frankly.

Of course, often those with the least, give the most. Life is interesting that way. People would be shocked (actually ESPECIALLY when I was making the most money) that I had a prize box for kids getting immunizations. It wasn't always cheap, either, even though the prizes were not diamond rings, if I took a kid down there and there were 10 kids, well, they all got prizes, because I am not one to be like, "Oooh I met with you and your family and the other ones didn't."

I had a woman who tried to do the same thing, but she quickly found how annoying it was to go to the dollar store/party outlet every week, especially when she was told no, she would not be reimbursed.

I've tried to do that with every population I have worked with, because they deserve it. That little "extra mile" matters, whether the family can "afford it on their own" or not.

If there is no outrage whatsoever on your part, I'm a bit surprised. I mean, it's up to you but I don't really WANT to be the one playing the violin while Rome burns. Not to tear you a new one or anything. That sort of thinking is JUST reductionist if you ask me or kind of a mask over the whole thing. If anyone is super thrilled deeming arrived. I'm a bit shocked, although sure, I am also not going to slit my wrists over it and have also continued to give away equipment to new vapers. I'm pretty sure I will be okay.

Agree . . . Most BM around here are not only Vape Shops, they included "Signage" that either stipulates VAPE & Smoke (or Tobacco) Shop and the sale of CBD . . . Very few - if any, were closed since COVID started . . . Matter of fact, none of them even look like they are closing . . .

BTW: Besides Sept. 9th - Let's remember that it is the 19th anniversary of Sept 11th in a few days . . . Just Sayin' . . . :(

I could never forget 9/11 as it is the day after my birthday. I remember it like it was yesterday. Hard to believe it has been that many years.

So do I. My kids were little and I was volunteering at their school that day. We were all standing at attention reciting the Pledge of Allegiance--all the adults were swallowing tears and trying to pretend that everything was fine...

I know, David. Not even a tiny bit. :(

Yet still it breaks my heart. An entire industry, built by itself, marketed by itself, and financed by itself, without ever a hint of public funding, over-lobbying, or any of that other garbage that permeates so many industries.

Grown to truly unbelievable heights, then struck down by the very legislative bodies that should have been embracing and nurturing it.

Blows my mind (and breaks my heart).
Corruption is a killer by-product of culturaly incestious nepotism stifling creative productivity & coopting other's enginuity
Thanks for that. I grabbed a half dozen of the M29s. Haven't used them before, but I'm a low-wattage vaper so they should work very well for me. Similar in specs to the Sanyo NCR18650GA that Mooch recommends for under 20-watt vapers. I've also found LG to be a solid company. Six batts shipped for less than $20. Hard to beat.
Thank you brother I ordered 4 happy vaping between 20 -30W Happy Labor Day

Has anybody had experience with the Wotofo STNG RDA? I'm looking at them for MTL squonking and they are one of the few remaining deals on Eightvape, marked down to $4.97 today (when it's in the cart) with free shipping over $8.88 .

    I'm tempted...

My sisters daughter was born 9/11/90 and my own daughter was born the following day. It's hard to have a fun birthday with all that sadness in your head...

Or really even "worry" about anything else that day, especially given how devastating the day was and what people are still grieving and going through.
