Are you done stocking up?

I think everyone needs rebuildable RTA's and rda's to make it into the future. Back in 2016 stock up, that is what everyone was grabbing up. As time went on and pods took over, rebuildables were not thought about as much with so many new drop in coil tanks. I admit I love drop in coils for easy, but they all maybe a thing of the past soon. Whatever you stashed maybe it for drop in's.
I guess I'm alright in the coils department. If I live to 90, I've got a new coil for every 17-days remaining, LOL. And, to be on the safe side, also sitting on 10 RTAs.
I hate to think of trying to work with the RTAs as a feeble old man though. And, I've never done the pod thing at all.

You made me want to go count my boxes of coils. 225 boxes including the ones that I ordered yesterday.

A little worried about my Dad's coil order. I couldn't find OCC coils in stock from USA so he ordered from Health Cabin (China). Next day Lightfire got a huge shipment in.

I went the other way to a great extent. 2014-2019 I used my rebuildables almost exclusively. I say almost because my out an about mod was and is a Penguin which is not a rebuildable but at 1 coil for every 2 weeks I have more than enough coils to outlast the penguin.

In 2019 it was the eye doc telling me that I am looking at cataract surgery in the next couple years that made me think I need to stock premade coils for that or just plain old age. A large chunk of my 2019 stockup was coils. Now I tried to make sure any tanks I bought at that time had a RBA unit that could be used instead of the stock coils until the stock coils were needed. Not all the tanks I ended up with have a RBA but most do. Those that don't I set aside with their appropriate stocked up coils for later use.

I also figured out how to rebuild some of the stock coils. WHich while not 100% satisfactory for some would at least keep me vaping.

Outside of all that most of my purchases from 2019 to now have been rebuildables, squonkers and just a few things that I just plain wanted like my Einstein Swag. Yeah its weird but as someone with a degree in math it just kinda suited my own quirks. LOL

I just recently ran an unflavored taste comparison test between two different NIC vendors. I've realized that even though I have mostly rebuildable atomizers, if I find I'm in a position where rebuilding becomes a challenge then I think I'll be able to get by on unflavored e-juice. The coils should a last very long time and hopefully I'll just need to re-wick occasionally.

Just heard back from the Gearbest vape seller as to why my tracking hasn't moved for 7 days and hasn't left china.

Was told they had to change the tracking #. I guess they had to reship it because "USPS now require declared weight and actual weight to be same".

Anyhow, got new tracking and looks like this will go through. On way from Shenzhen to HK. That;s the way it should be. I just want to see "HKG / Shipment departed from airport of origin country" and I'll be happy. Will hopefully show that in the next day or 2, judging from past orders.

Once I see "ORD / Released from customs: customs cleared.", I'll breath easier. :D

Ni200 is Nickel 200 wire. Lot's of companies made coils with NI200 wire years ago but no one really wanted them.

I love nickel wire. I can never have enough of it. I love TC too. Both SS and NiCr taste horrible to me. Especially if the coil was ever dry burned. I can only vape NiCr and SS if I treat them like nickel and never overheat them.

Only 5 out of 13 nic suppliers in my list are selling nic.

Carolina Extract increased price a bit.

    https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/ubs/list-of-usa-based-nicotine-base-vendors.17/

If anyone knows of other sources that are still shipping, please let me know so I can add to list.

EDIT: Actually LNW is still taking order, but only 5 gallons. That makes 6 out of 13. But IIRC, they stated today is their last day taking retail orders.

Nic River has removed DIY nic from their site. Following link gets you a 404 page not found.

    https://riversupplyco.com/products/diy-purnic-nicotine-100mg

Went to their site browsing around at flavors, bottles etc and then noticed the nic base was gone. Ordered some more at My Freedom Smokes because I'm not sure if the PG / VG affects the storage life. I hedged my bets and have half of my stock that's 50/50 a quarter that's 100% VG and the other quarter that's 100% PG. One way or another I'll be able to have my own liquid for some amount of time. Also ordered some amber bottles because I didn't need a 12 pack. And some childproof caps.

If the nic degrades fastest in VG then I'll use that first, then the 50/50 and so on.

This should conclude my panic buying! Batteries, kanthal wire, cotton, PG, VG and flavors should all be available for some time. If we hear otherwise I'll have to get some of those sooner than later.

    Good idea, or not lol.

I don't know which degrades first.

I have heard VG degrades fastest.
I have heard PG degrades fastest.
I have heard it doesn't matter.

    Mines is all PG.

I asked the question over in the nic base storage freezer vs room temp experiment thread, hopefully someone knows for sure.

Many people have asked many people that question. It's one of those questions that will get all possible answers and lead you back to square one - asking the question again.

There was a chemist on this site that said VG was best. I think his name was Kurt. He no longer posts here and I don't feel like finding his post about it because it's a moot point at this point.

I know nothing about him personally. I don't know if he ever verified his credentials.

I went with what it seemed most on this thread were buying - PG. I only got into buying and storing nic base end of 2019. So in that respect I'm a newb.

Funny I heard the same exact info. Although I do admit people spontaneously combusting from VG nic is a tad concerning. That makes the increased pregnancy rates from PG nic use seem like a walk in the park.

I vape 50/50 and I have neither spontaneously combusted nor gotten pregnant.

Maybe 50/50 is the winner? :D

IIRC... Kurt posted that "theoretically" VG Based Nicotine could be better. But that since the Study of Long Term Nicotine Storage was basically Non-Existent, it was more supposition than fact

I know nothing about him personally. I don't know if he ever verified his credentials.

Here is brief overview of Kurt's Credentials.
