I'm using 2016 nic too, kept frozen until I'm ready to pour it out, and haven't noticed a thing. Looks fine, tastes fine.

A source that I have confidence in stated the following, regarding degradation (of the nic):
"At -20C very very small (1-2% over six years). At -60C less than 1% over six years."

Way, Way (Way) back in the Day, madvapes did a running Test of how fast Nicotine Degrades under some typical conditions.

The Link to the Info is LONG Dead. But here is a Copy n' Paste I did back in 2015.

Some of you folks will remember Kurt, a chemist of well over 30+ years, and specifically his many (MANY) highly informative posts on nicotine storage/shelf life.

this one, in part, says it all:

"Nicotine in of itself has a VERY long shelf life. I know this because my brother used nicotine in pharm Alzheimers Disease studies, and many of the nic lots were > 10 years old, with zero degradation."

( above copied from this post )

Nicotine GREATER than 10 years old, with zero degradation - - - Nuff Effing Said!!!

Kurt did his own long-term nic storage tests and found that IF stored in glass bottles and in your typical home freezer nic will last and last and last. (search his numerous posts on the topic)

Over the years DVap and Rossum also posted very high-quality information regarding proper nic storage and shelf life. Their info confirms nic having a very long shelf life. Rossum's thread has a ton of useful info.

IIRC....... Wizard Labs and My Freedom Smokes also posted on the ECF that nic properly stored will last a very long time. Both at one time sold high quality nic. I think Classy may have archived those threads after the major forum sw update (2-3 years back, or thereabouts). Those are likely still on ECF because she did not want to delete useful and/or historical threads (she told me so, LOL).

FWIW, I recently started a NN Armor v2 100mg 120ml btl (in PG base) dated 2016-05-17 that was stored in my freezer (in the sealed brown Boston Round bottle NN shipped it in).

The nic is as clear as the day I received it from NN (crystal clear, zero coloration). Tastes perfectly fine in my flavored and flavorless DIY mixes.

Bottom line (as others have stated): Store nic in glass bottles and in a freezer.

I have 5l of nic in the freezer, except for the first liter, the remaining 4 are in 100ml glass bottles.
I've calculated that I have nic until I turn 95, then I'll probably be in a nursing home with the little I should have left

On @ShowMeTwice , good to see you buddy

You did the smart thing; getting that 1000mL back then. Although I am curious if you notice the nicotine's half-life coming in to play. It's my understanding that nicotine itself deteriorates at a decent pace.
I have a test bottle for this specific purpose.. to see how fast it degrades. Initially, I would pull it out every 6 or so months but the past 10 or so years, I went to yearly when I saw it was not degrading, to 'see' what it is doing. Stored it away in May 2010.. YES 2010... It has been 'thawed' and refroze 27 times. I mark the label each time. Pulled it out and 'thawed' today to 'check' it. Results: clear as a bell even though the bottle is down to just over 1/2 full at this point. Purchased as 100mg VG when frozen in 2010. Today the test kit shows 91 mg. Looks, smells and vape just like the day I put it in the freezer. Back then, it was said to keep it in a dark cool closet etc. Then everyone said freezer. I chose glass bottles in the freezer. Working just fine for me. I will take a loss of 9mg. :)
