It is my belief that the problem of controlling consumer skin care and food products (VG/PG) is the reason for the FDA's obsession over open system hardware. They really have thought this through and they know they have to stop the flow of hardware.

The FDA Knows that Stopping all Open System Hardware is Extremely Problematic. And would involve Resources that they may or may not be able to use.

Why try to Kill a Snake by cutting it into Very Small Pieces starting at the Tail? Why not just Loop Off the Head by Restricting Bottled e-liquids?

The Restriction of Hardware that you see the FDA attempting is an Attempt to Limit the Black Market for Liquid Nicotine. Something that the FDA Knows the can Never 100% Stop. Only attempt to Minimize.

I do believe that there are Parts of the FDA's Deeming that will be Struck Down by the Court(s). Especially with regards to Hardware.

But the Court System in this Country moves Very Slowly. And arguing sides use this to Their advantage. So I wouldn't let possibility of a Court Ruling influence one's preparedness in being Self-Sufficient.
I have not let that influence me one bit...:D
My problem is that I'm a vaping minimalist, always have been, so I'm fearful that what I think is "enough" for me, may not be in the end. Time will tell I guess.

I understand their plan and don't plan to choose any of their options.

A funny, but delightful realization I had just yesterday made me realize that I have a third option. I accidentally left my vaping gear at home as I was on my way to an afternoon of shopping and visiting with friends(early dinner included). So instead of turning around to retrieve them, I thought it would be a good test to see how I would react to the situation at hand. I only thought about it once maybe twice the entire afternoon/evening. To be fair, I really do not know if my lack of anxiety was due to the fact that I really can finally put this whole experience to rest once and for all, or if by my consuming caffeine throughout the entire outing played a part in that. Please don't get me wrong, I completely enjoy my many devices along with all the flavors etc. and this reaction was so totally unexpected that I question if I can truly repeat it. But I am determined not to give any more of my money to BT or to the Feds or to the states on this addiction. They have extracted way more than money from me and this is where I am drawing my proverbial line in the sand.

So getting back to your question I ask can you afford to pay all of the extra sin taxes proposed by state, Fed and local authorities? If you can and are willing to do so then go for it.
I too will never pay sin taxes for vaping and have arranged my life accordingly. But this not about you or me but the 30 million smokers oblivious to all this now

Regardless of how the guidelines turn out, Temco cool, VG, and PG can never have their sale restricted or taxes other than state sales taxes. The dual use issue is something they can't get around. However, I can see them restricting or placing enormous taxes on Nic itself. Getting as much of that put away, more than any other product, is the key to long term freedom from their reach.

Because DIY is so simple. You can't cut up a snake any which way if snakes are sold in every walmart

Last I Checked, Walmart doesn't sell Nicotine Base. Maybe I was in the wrong Aisle?

BTW - How many Suppliers of Liquid Nicotine are there in the USA? Not Sellers of Nicotine Base. Suppliers of Nicotine Base who distribute to the Nicotine Base sellers?

They did figure out how to fairly well control and tax the consumption of alcohol while leaving alcohol on every grocery store shelf. If they really wanted to they might do the same to PG and VG

ZampleBox is saying the same things I said from the start. They will have no change except maybe losing a few lines of juice for at least 2 yrs and most likely longer because it will be held up in court much longer. Items that are currently on the market before it takes effect will be available for 2yrs and longer as well... stocking up to early, you'll run out before anything actually happens lol.

You are looking at the short term small picture of current smokers attempting to quit. I'm looking at the big picture including the new generation of what will be smokers unless they prefer vaping. The kids are the new lifeblood of the tobacco tax revenue stream, replacing smokers lost to attrition. The tax revenue accountants projecting a decade into the future clearly see this larger picture.

These kids now prefer vaping over smoking. The statistics make that clear. And they do not need nic. They just need hardware and VG to blow clouds bro.

DIY 0mg Isn't really relevant in all this. Because the FDA Can't prevent someone from doing DIY 0mg. We Know it. And the FDA knows it.

And what does it Matter if there is a 20% or 30% drop in Teen Smoking? You just Adjust the Tax Rate to account for the Shortfall in Tax Monies.

Isn't that what we are Seeing Right Now?

It hasn't hurt vape shops yet even though almost free eLiquid is available to all. It is the demise of vape shops that will precipitate interest in DIY especially among the young never smoking clouds crowd for which neither nic nor flavoring is all that important.
I wholeheartedly disagree with you. The demise of vape shops will affect every segment- not just those you classify as such. Vapers kill me with the underhanded way they smear each other. It doesn't matter whether one prefers clouds over flavor & vice versa, we're all S.O.L. if none of this gets overturned.

In my 'hood, they're already doing this.
I'm just wondering how long it'll take the 'corner boys' to start selling it.
