I am going to make up a larger batch for testing flavors when I get around to it. I am going to make one batch for a 5% and another for 10%. Should make it easier for making 5ml test batches instead of trying to be highly accurate with the nic in such a low volume.

Once you know what mg/mL you like to vape at, a bigger batch of unflavored is simple to mix and store if necessary. Broken out into smaller bottles 10 mL or 30 mL is easy, then just add flavoring, shake and vape.

I'm a firm believer in the KISS principal....

I found a used Gus earlier this week. I like the button. This one has a fuse for a 510 pin (12 amp) so it should be one of the safer mech mods available.

I've thought about doing it like that before. However, doing the above, and then adding the flavorings...will dilute the nic, and throw off my PG/VG ratio somewhat, especially if I'm making a high flavoring % recipe.

If the PG percent is a big concern, figure the mL of flavoring into the base ratio. That is determine the amount of nic, VG and PG / flavoring combined as your unflavored formula.

I've always thought if I was using that high % of flavoring, the flavoring was too weak to be useful...looked for a stronger version. YMMV....:pervy:...just kidding

Serious question... Do DNA's not last as long as normal devices? I see more people saying they lost those and they haven't even been out that long. Do the boards really brick often like you all were talking about some hundreds of pages ago?

I'm not done stocking, and waiting for labor day sales trying to find ways to free up funds. I'm done with nic, have enough tanks, saw Griffin 22 clones for like $12 on ebay, may have to add a few of those. @kross8 which clones did you have?

Need devices and I'm at such a weird place with devices. Most of you all have seen my list, (2) Kbox Mini, (1) Encom Voidray, (1) RX200, (1) Vaporesso Tarot 200. I know I'll probably get at least 2 more Encom Voidrays, but I'm not sure what to do about the rest of my stockpile. It's all over the place. At this point I might just get one more of each, and then start ordering Picos.

So my to buy by 12/31 list looks like:
(2) Encom Voidray
(4) Griffin 22 clones
(1) Vapesso Tarot 200
(1) RX200 or similar. (Would I want to get another RX200 exactly for interchangeable parts?)
(3-4) Picos

And then re-evaluate. I'd like to say I want to buy nothing more because I have plenty but I don't feel THAT good about the court case. If I end up having stockpiles of old gear at least I'll have you all to console me.
i have the FT $12+/-clones (state side Ebay $12 sounds like a good deal) and i am very happy with them. the 'ring' on the wick channel involves a learning curve. i leave mine on the atty because i find it too hard to put it on after the wick is installed. since having the Griffin clone my 'atty shopping has nearly stopped............i am very happy with it

Vendors normally test their nic batches to ensure they are selling what they say they are. There was one occasion a few years back that one vendor was sending out nic that had large variations, but I have not heard of any since that time. Does not mean it has not happened, just I have not heard of it - that would be as it was before a big topic on ECF...

Kind of on the fence about 22's or 25's and if I want topflow anyways and I'm ordering devices first anyways so... have at it. :thumb:

I have a 25 in the stash I have not tried yet, really should give it a test drive but I have a boreas and billow v3 plus in rotation right now. I love my griffin sans top airflow and don't really see a need for adding top airflow. My gemini with top airflow wide open I found to be too airy and it muted the flavors. I too need to focus on mods for the next month or two as I have a wide assortment of various tanks still unwrapped that I have not even tried but I only bought the one griffin 22 and 1 x 25 so I really want to add a few spare 22's to a mod order.

I'm just the opposite. I LOVE my Provari's (especially the Radius) but don't have a single Kayfun. (Lot's of STM's though ;))

Top fill is a good idea on paper. Every top fill Atty i have used has leaked. Thats why i use my old school Kayfun instead of my Kayfun Mini V3. It has weak O rings On the drip tip and leaks.

Yep! It was me most likely. I remember posting it on some thread awhile ago, when someone else wanted to try finding the materials for it locally.
You do also need a little bit of distilled water to do the test. I'd forgotten that, but just found the instructions I'd copied from a Sticky on the DIY board. They seemed to be easier than several others I'd read about. They're below in case anyone else wants to do a test with local materials:

Steps:

1. Pour some distilled water in the cylinder, swirl it, dump it out. (Can be graduated cylinder, test tube w/markings, beaker, etc.)

2. Repeat step 1.

3. Repeat step 1.

4. Dry cylinder with a sliver of paper towel.

5. Put 1mL of eLiquid in the cylinder

6. Add 2 drops of bromo blue

7. Fill cylinder to the 3mL mark with distilled water

8. Swirl to mix

9. Add a drop of the acid

10. Swirl to mix

11. If the color of the solution didn't turn pale yellow, repeat steps 8-9

12. Measure the final volume

13. Subtract 3 from the number you read in step 12

14. Multiply the result of step 13 by 19.4712

15. The resulting number is the mg/mL
Thank you very much!! :nun:
I've copied and put this with my notes. :)

I don't think that makes you weird at all.:)

We all like different things, based on the things we've tried.

You like what you like, and as long as it's satisfying to *you*, that's *all* that's important.:2c:

The thing (to me) that is important, is finding what will satisfy and keep someone off the stinkies.

I was extremely slow to change and try new things, and most of the things I've gone with have been out for at least couple of years.

I haven't tried sub-ohm, and can't imagine that I will.
That probably seems weird to someone who loves it and wouldn't go back to the style of vaping that I prefer. :)

The world would be a very boring place if we were all cookie cutter clones of each other.:vapor:

i will never leave top fill,, it took time, but i got the wicking technique down pat for 'no leaking'.......yes, it took time and i use a 'thread ripper' to fine tune my wicks. (a sewing needle works even better,,, but my hands are acting up more)

Most of the tanks I currently have in rotation are top fill. As a result my tanks rarely get separated from the mod they are mounted on.

Granted, some top/side fill solutions work better than others. I invested in multiple 'Top Tank Minis' only to find that the V0 RTA (with the tiny slits for juice channels) has any hope of not leaking after a refill. The V1 and V2 Kanger RBA leak gobs. There is still always the option to bottom fill these tanks.

I've never had the Kayfun's and their clones leak after filling. I think the JFC on these are likely the most effective in the industry.

I've had the best luck with the OBS Cirus and Lemo2 side fill's. Both can benefit from inverting the tank right after filling to reset the pressure in the tank.

I have a set of TFV4's with the single RBA that sometimes leak sometimes not. With no JFC these tanks have to be inverted and let the extra juice run out the drip tip.

Personally I think the JFC on the Griffin's don't have tight enough tolerance to be effective. The juice will run out the air holes with the JFC closed on mine. (fill quick, cap, invert, open JFC, set right side up seems to help)
