They are already our most valuable assets.....right here on the forums. This is the one place many can come here for the support they cant get elsewhere, to laugh, to cry, to complain & to hug it out. We pick each other up when down & help you spend that extra $1.25 you found in the sofa on coils. Many of us put in more hours here throughout the day than we do elsewhere.

The friendships I've made here are ones I cherish everyday. We may not always agree with one another, & like any family, fights break out, we go to our corners, sulk for a bit then come back like nothing happened.....(well in most cases) :sneaky:

At the end of the day, the one thing we all have in common is the desire to not go back to traditional cigarette smoking & no matter the mod anyone uses, the goal is all the same.

#VapeOn

So very true!

I was thinking about something last night, as I was going over receipts for vape stuff I've bought & stashed, and figuring out where/how I'll store everything. It dawned on me that since I have no spouse nor children who vape...what will become of all this stuff if something happens to me before I can make use of it all? My close relatives will certainly not even know what most of it IS, let alone its use, original cost, resale value, where/how to resell it, who I'd like to have it, etc.!

Has anyone else thought about that? If you have, what are you doing or planning for that possibility? Especially if the FDA deeming comes down as hard as many of us think it will, and/or state laws keep going in the direction several have already...there will be many people who could really make use of it all in the future! Just think about how many of us are stocking up.

I could just picture someone going to my chest freezer and seeing all the nic in there...and just pitching it or taking it to a hazardous waste collection site!

Any thoughts or ideas on this?

I've thought about this as well, especially in regards to my nic stash. I don't know anyone who vapes besides myself.

Someone on one of these threads mentioned making provisions in a will, so I know all this is occurring to others.

A liter of 100 mg nic could conceivably be worth quite a bit one day.

Are they going to do house-to-house freezer searches? Or follow anyone they see vaping home and conduct search and seizures? Rely on the vaping equivalent of narcs? Not sure how such a thing could even work. Not that it's never occurred to me, but I've tried to file it under Irrational Fears. :p
In my case, a search and seizure could be a real possibility if it's outright banned or illegal to cross state lines.

As a trucker, one perk of the job is submitting to searches and inspections on the whim of DOT and customers.

Were I to be doing something illegal with little Glass bottles that I mix at home, my mandatory identification would tell them exactly which house to go to.

Wouldn't be hard to find an entire laboratory. I just question if they'd be informed enough to know all of what is related to confiscate for evidence.

This quote
"The effective date of the regulations will be approximately August 10, 2016. Manufacturers will have two years from that date to submit PMTA's for every product (meaning every vaping device and every e-liquid) they wish to stay on the market. If the manufacturer submits a PMTA within this two-year period, it will be allowed to stay on the market for one additional year unless the FDA makes a decision on its application prior to that additional 12 months. If the application is not approved, the product must be taken off the market."

From this article The Rest of the Story: Tobacco News Analysis and Commentary: FDA E-Cigarette Deeming Regulations are a Disaster for Public Health

sounds like, to me, that I will be able to still buy anything I need until August 2018, am I missing something?
Yes

Stores already closing in panick.

There'll be an exponential decrease in availability as panick and failure snowballs to the inevitable few who pass the PMTA "screening".

My grandson will inherit all of my vape stuff. Before he vaped I had a person I'd made friends with here on ECF that I'd made clear to my family was to be given everything vaping they could find in the house if something were to have happened to me.

Have them test your juice straight out of an atty for nic %, now we all know no one could vape that level of nic and live so their tests were flawed. You are free to go.

I live alone, and I was also concerned about someone going through my freezer and sniffing bottles or whatever trying to figure out what the hell it is. Most of mine is a bit more concentrated than 100mg, so I made sure to label everything very well, including "Danger - Poison" type warnings.

I am copying all my receipts too, shows date of purchase, so if anyone thinks it was illegal I have proof it wasn't. Just a CYA move on my part :) May stick my nic receipts in freezer so I have a couple of copies in baggies LOL I also have all receipts online so handy if I loose anything. Now I need to copy all those have not had time yet! Still looking for odds and ends parts!

Friends that vape???

I've thought about that, but none of my close friends vape now! A few did for about 2 years, but have quit. At least they didn't go back to smoking though! 1 relative who started vaping didn't stick with it, and she's back to smoking unfortunately.

Closest friend who also vapes, works at a vape shop and has no interest in DIY (gets his juice free). Have tried to get him interested in case the shop closes up, but it's a no go. Lots of his hardware is for sub-ohming, and much of mine isn't...although he does really like several of the mods I've stashed in quantity!

So...I'm back to square 1.

I'm not saving receipts but all my bottles do have batch numbers and dates. I'm really really hoping that doesn't come into play ever. I suppose if you rebottle it would be more of an issue?

As far as what would happen to the stash if something happens to me--filed under stuff I can't really worry about. I don't know anyone else who vapes. There would probably be a really awesome vape tag sale.
