Yes, will just take some practice like learning to wick did. I get a coil master kit with a jig (2 actually lol, forgot I bought one from amazon then bought one locally for a fair price) and plenty of wire to practice with.

I got mine (quick from eciggity) but it was around $28.

FT is definitely cheaper if you don't mind the overseas wait.
I think its all your comfort level, yes FT has jig sets cheap. As some are more comfortable with DIY items and small hand/finger dexterity chores, many household items you already have can be used to make coils. You can noodle around the videos in your area, and do what works for you. Im guessing we'll see more blogs here with "how to" blogs.
here's a 5min simple make use of your fishing gear idea:

Cheers

I am well prepared to continue vaping without interuption for a few years. But now that we are down to the wire I have family (finally) intrested in switching over. My problem is, I have no idea what to recommend. Obviously replaceable batteries and rebuildables are the way to go. But not sure they can handle that. I need something that can just pop in coils now but be rebuildable at a later point.

Sorry for being long-winded my point is:
What would you suggest a newbie in these trying times.

Two tanks that use both premade and (easy to do) rebuildable coils that I like alot and use daily are the Kanger Subtank Mini and the Joyetech Ego One V2 and Tron-S tanks. Both tanks pair nicely with the eVic VTC Mini (should be able to find one for under $40) or the Wismec Reuleaux RX75 (excellent price on the kit/mod but I did not like the tank Reuleaux RX75 Mod & Kit by Wismec $29.99 ) or the Vapor Flask Lite (on sale here at a crazy low price AVAIL | Vape Forward Vaporflask Lite ) all of which take a single 18650 battery.

The subtank minis can use replaceable coils but they also come with an rba. I can't vouch for the coils because I've always just used the rba.

I am liking the STM 0.5 included coil I put in with the tank about 5 days ago but I have a ton of tanks/mods I have been using/testing so no idea on the durability of said coil if it was the only thing I was vaping all day. I have not tried the other included coils, or the RBA, yet.

You've got time to figure this out while we fight folks.... but dont put it off any longer, and definitely
always have back ups.
Cheers.

I have multiples of both The STM & the Tron-S. I know I'm in the minority, but I prefer the Tron-S. Nothing wrong, at all, with the STM. I have 7 of them, with spares. It's a very versatile tank, with something for about everyone. I can't comment on the factory coils, because like Ceejay, I've only used the RBA.

There's just something I like about the Tron-S. If you want to give the Tron-S a whirl, I wouldn't delay too much. I'm not sure if Joytech is still making them. I think they may have moved on to the Cubis style tank. I went looking for a couple more Tron-S's this weekend and they are showing up as out of stock at some places. Or limited color availability. I don't know if that's a sign that the stocks are thinning.

If you do give the Tron-S a try, get a few packs of the CLR rebuildable coils. I have really good luck with them. It's like getting 5 mini RBA's for about $10. I've been rebuilding the same CLR coil for 5 months now.

Both the STM & Tron-S will do a good job for you, in my book.

so I've been at this a while now, and so have many others here on ECF...
my :2c: ....I wish I had back all the time and $$$ spent my first months on the bottom rung on that
Vape Ladder.
Just because of the durability, the "cant kill it no matter what", unless you're a direct lung, cloud chaser;
I cant recommend anything other than ProVari's..
Even for the SubOhm peeps..
They're always going to LAST...and if for some reason they happen to need repair (rare)...
they honor the warranty- will your mod do that?
Cheers.

How long does it take to get to the top of the ladder?

I'm 62 and not sure how many years I have left.

First post, but a long term lurker and four years analog free . . . .

I've got 10 - 12 mods, 7 rdtas, wire and prebuilt coils to last longer than I'll likely live, and enough nic for 27 years.

My only dilemma is DIY flavoring, due to limited shelf life (a couple of years max, I've read). I'll probably buy three years worth before August 8th, and hope for the best. Of course, that's assuming the Deeming Regs end up applying to flavors.

I am with you on the Tron-S tanks, they are by far my favorite and the main tank I use (I ran across a sale so I am seriously stocked up on them in every color) and paired with the CLR coils = perfection :) as a matter of fact for the price of the CLR coils I recommend them over the CL coils even if you don't rebuild as you can just re-wick them multiple times or toss like a premade as they cost the same. They are still readily available if you look around a bit.

The Ego One V2 4ml tanks are on par with the Tron-S tanks using the same coils but have a bigger window to see your juice levels, not much difference otherwise between the two. Sweet-Vapes carries them Joyetech eGo ONE Mega V2 Tank 4ml

ETA or if you like a smaller tank they have a 2ml Ego One V2
Joyetech eGo ONE V2 Tank 2ml - Joyetech Tanks - Joyetech - Tanks & Coils

For what it is worth, I have flavorings that are 7 years old and they seem to be fine. Perhaps a bit weaker but still usable.

Problem is that if Provape doesn't do the PMTA, which they have basically said they won't do, you won't be able to get repairs, upgrades or whatever down the road. I am confident the Vari's will last a very long time (that is why I have at least 7 of them).

I have some old flavors too and they are fine. I agree on Provari, I really wonder how long they will last :)

Just when you think you are done....lol

That looks like a good deal! Thanks. I've scraped up 9 packs of the CLR coils, over the last 5 months. I decided that the Tron was one I wanted to stock up on, a bit. It's been such a good, easy, tank.

Wow, you have one of every color? That must be like 20 or so. I sold the V2 blue, purple, pink, black, white. Gifted a fade to my daughter but never managed to get one for myself. I only have 1 or 2 pinks, 1 or 2 blacks, tiffany, dragon, gold, zombie, white and glovari. I might have more than 7 when I list them that way.
