And depending on where they live, that may be a major consideration.

On a street that was once an apple orchard....(sigh). Gasoline gets expensive, 8 gallons at a clip. :|

And no, it's NOT for the vape. It's for the heat. 10-1 odds says it gets fired up late tomorrow, in fact.

Moving on....

We're expecting a snow here in South Eastern PA tonight into the morning, 5-8 inches.... People are freaking out ( the local media and the weather channel dramatize it)..When I lived in Michigan a snow of this size wasn't even brought up in conversation...,..

One day I'll learn why. Beer & wine, I'd understand. But, what - milk sandwiches????

A generator is worth its weight in gold for many purposes more practical than NIC...... Heat, cooking, light, charging batteries, WiFi so we can speculate about nic storage on a forum;)
Mood lighting along the way to the bathroom for the little lady after "keeping warm" while the power is out...

Exactly why I worded it as "having backup power" as opposed to buying backup power .

Still blows my mind why.

PA deals with snow pretty well.

Everyone knows how to get by and the streets are cleared with chemical treatments... which works way better than the mechanical treatment of Wyoming.

And eggs.

I've come to learn there's an obvious answer to EVERY weather disaster.

I just don't know why it's all perishable ingredients that specifically make French toast when combined.

Or where these people are getting power to cook it.

You beat me to the eggs Beck ( no pun intended) I always wondered growing up what my mother would use raw eggs for in a power outage, Yeah, were pretty decent here getting the main roads clear

Bread, milk and eggs in a power outage? Easy. Fried egg sandwiches for breakfast and milk for the French press coffee. Gas cooktop and a box of matches here(for that pesky electric ignition on the cook top that doesn't work in a power outage.)
