Here & There
Part of the reason I even started this was because I am uber picky and didn't like the vast majority of juices I sampled in my early vaping days. Have been mixing my own juice since 6 weeks into vaping and have not bought nor missed sampling other juices. Now if there is a contest for free juice sure I will throw my name in the hat not gonna turn down a freebie :D but overall the only juices I actually missed and could not replicate reasonably were NET tobaccos which now even that jones is fixed with myvapejuice.com's NET extracts. At least now if I don't like my juice I know who to blame and I can tweak it to my liking for a fraction of the price of buying a disappointing juice.

To be honest, being both poor and stingy if I did buy juice it would be from low-end vendors, whose juice is on par with my DIY mixes and still much more expensive than them in the long run.

I also agree wholeheartedly! So far, I've never had to throw out any of my DIY. I've thrown out or given away a bunch of cheap vendor juice and could barely stand a couple of more expensive ones.

I've only been doing it for a month. No unvapable disasters yet, i'm pleased to say. So far so good. To me, this isn't any more difficult than cooking a new recipe.. at least once you've done the dangerous part and diluted down your nic base to workable levels.

I might occasionally pick up some ecb fruit smoothie if i an unable to reproduce it on my own, and maybe some gorilla juice as a special treat or reward.

Currently swapping between 5% watermelon, 5% strawberry + ~1% koolada (fruits from DIY flavorshack, koolada from Wizard labs) which is helping with my cold and 10% flue cured and 5% french vanilla (TFA) so it's all gravy.

....Are you getting significantly better at DIY or have you just been fooling yourself?

Great question Tracker! Have enjoyed reading the answers here.

In my case I think my skills have improved somewhat, I've finally found existing recipes and have created recipes that suit me, and since I have a poor memory that probably plays a part too. :)

I'm just recently at the point where I could do 100% DIY and be satisfied. The feeling of freedom that that gives me is worth far more to me than the taste of any vendor made juice at this point.

Finally FREE from....
- being disappointed by highly touted juices that I don't personally like
- being hooked on a juice only to have the vendor shut down for vacation or to move, or the juice isn't available, or it takes weeks for an order to be processed, ad nauseam...
- spending big bucks on continually sampling juices

And now I'm going to go searching for some of your recipes and will give them a try. If you want to PM them to me to save me the hassle, I'll be forever grateful. :D

Hahaha, you wouldn't want any of my recipes any more than you would want to take golf lessons from Ray Charles. Mostly what I have done is try other peoples recipes and adjust to taste which usually involves making it much weaker and using a higher percentage of EM and VG.

And I couldn't agree more with the rest of your post Gloria.

I'll spring for some recommended tobacco flavors occasionally, just to see how my own recipes stand up to them. I've got a long way to go. Tried W2V Blondie and other samples along with HHV's Huntsman. I'm not even in the ballpark. Going to try some NET concentrates next.

Was wondering if you could please recommend a few vendors that offer NET concentrates? Thank you.

Too funny! That's mostly what I do too...and I wouldn't expect others to like my DIY either. :)

MVJ - My Vape Juice. Diane has seven NET concentrates. There's a sale going on right now. I suggest the Country Squire Original.

Was wondering if you could please recommend a few vendors that offer NET concentrates? Thank you.

I've been diy'ing for a year or so with a buddy of mine who does as well. We all make juice and trade the recipes. I think most vapers quickly realize their juice niche. I personally don't like heavy tobacco or dry juices. I'm a fan of fruit flavored juices, and things with menthol. Fuzion vapor style juices come to mind. I stopped buying most juices honestly because they really did suck. They were never sweet enough, or strong enough, so my diy started out with my desire to make the juices I bought better. I quickly learned what I liked and the rest is diy history.

The one rabbit I'm chasing is how to make the perfect strawberry waffle. The juice love of my life will always be vapor bomb's strawberry waffle. It's the perfect flavor, with perfect throat hit, and perfect sweetness. I would actually give up trying to make it if they would sell larger than 30ml bottles. If they sold liter bottles I would probably buy 2 and that would last me maybe 6 months. That's how much I love it.

I've tried TPA strawberry, strawberry cream and strawberry kiwi and have not been happy with any of them as a stand alone vape. I still get some use out of them as a mix with menthol or cheescake or waffle.

I've never tried to make cherry but i have tried a few pre-made liquids. I feel about their cherry the way i do about my strawberry.

after a year of diy i feel i've mastered enough flavors for my needs but my needs are changing. I have started coming back arouond to tobacco flavors and find them challenging.

I vape my own and have been all DIY for at least 2 years, if not more. I still like to sample other stuff at meets and such, but haven't found anything that would make me want to buy premixed yet. Also at meets I have to make sure I have a bottle of my Cuban Cigar and my White Peach as there are folks who are very nice in asking for tastes of those and want to introduce them to a new, or old, vaping friend. (Last meet in Kokomo consumed 45ml of White Peach and 15ml of Cuban just giving out drops out of my bottles.)

I do encounter good stuff from vendors' samples. The ones that catch my interest seem to be from the smaller companies. By interesting I mean that it is what I call "close". It is at that point where I would call my version close to being a recipe, but not quite. Maybe I'm too picky? Don't know art, but I know what I like.

I love White Peaches have you shared your recipe?

I know my DIY has improved. I got out a bottle of my favorite vendor juice [it's in low mg and just been sitting there for awhile]. Mine are just as good:) It has taken about 10 tries to get the recipe really working to perfection. I need one more trial and then I will know I have the perfect 555:)

I find my DIY gets better all of the time, I am now moving into flavor enhancers such as Seedman's Captain Black and other tobacco enhancers. Also over the past few months have gone from single flavor mixes to seven or eight items in a mix (including butterfly farts, enhancers, absolutes)

I don't really have any desire to buy juices from vendors any more.
