In theory yes. I will break even on Monday. Seams that is exactly what I said about this in another thread a few weeks ago :) I do have a lot of cool stuff instead of a pile of stinky cigarette butts. Plus some of the money I have spent is paying it forward.

A little under 8 bucks a pack in WA, more depending on where you buy. At a pack + a day it won't take long to realize some REAL savings but I will have to stop upgrading to start the real savings. I can only think of about a hundred thing I still want :)

Edit: Without adding extra packs of smokes caused by extra stress or drinkin :) I have been spending 2,810 dollars a year at a pack a day. This does not include the wife's cigar habit which pales in comparison to my smoking is at least another grand.

Spent about $850/yr on cigs, half a pack per day. My first year vaping I saved $550, spent $300. This year I started diy and will be saving $750, budget being $70 in diy supplies and $30 for misc from ft. I already have a well supplied stash so not much is needed.

I'm simple and have self control. I don't have the need to buy premium juice or every new shiny thing I see.

I pay $8.99 for a 15ml bottle which lasts me one week. I vape about 2 ml a day.

I don't really go in for the whole "omg I need this new mod because I saw it online... I was totally happy with mine but now that I know this one exists I am not happy with mine anymore" so I have two VV batteries and one MVP 2.0 that just arrived. I paid $46 incl. shipping for the Innokin, and that's the most expensive bit of vaping gear I own.

I'm saving a LOT of money.

I smoked over a pack of Newports a day, and even with Oregon's cheap cigarette prices ($6.26 for a pack of Newports,,,Camels are $5 and some change for reference) that is a LOT of saved money.

$9/wk, plus maybe $20/month in new gear, that puts me around $60/month, which is a liberal estimate.

smoking = around $200/month for me.
vaping = $60/month

I save approximately $140 every month!! :2cool::2cool::2cool::2cool:

Yes, I'm definitely saving money. The initial cost of buying the vaping gear certainly made it more expensive at first, but the cost going forward is about $10-20 per week, because it's only a matter of buying ejuice. I'm building my own coils, and cotton isn't very expensive. Even if you add the cost of buying replacement coils for something like a Kanger EVOD, you'd still be saving a lot of money, as a pack of five coils is only $10.

Now, all this changes if you like to buy shiny new vaping gear every month. Depending on what you purchase, it might end up being more expensive than smoking cigarettes, but, if it's your hobby, you're getting more out of it than smoking. I still doubt that it will be more expensive, unless you are buying an authentic mod every month.

Haven't actually saved anything yet. I only started vaping about a month ago, so I've got the usual start up costs factored in right now. Think I've already found a line of juices that I love though, so I won't be spending so much on trying out different things. As others have said though, this has become a bit of a hobby to me already so I don't mind that I haven't technically saved anything monetarily. I'm certainly saving my health, which is priceless.

I keep track of how much I spend on vaping equipment and e-juice in my signature below, and here's where I'm at right now:

-Total spent on vaping: $696.05 ~~ Amount saved by quitting: Over $1,146.°°-

In the last few months I've bought two Protank 2's, two Mini Protank 2's, and an iTaste MVP 2.0. Other than that I've just been buying e-juice and coils, so the savings just continue adding up :D Although now that I've saved over $1,000 I plan to start buying some new equipment, and I've already got about $300 worth of items I really want to buy :facepalm:

Nope, not even close to saving. Have no other interests/hobbies. Try to stay in what my smoking cost/mo. but sometimes go over due to sale or just desire. However, consider it money well spent because of health reasons. Spend less at doctors, or on drugs, and for insurance premiums. Retired now. Saved money all working days in SPITE of smoking, will spend it now. :p

I was a heavy smoker ... 2 packs a day!! when I switch to vaping (and it took me 2 months) I was literally drinking my ejuice ... 60ml a day ... I was hung up on the
flavor and no stinky smells ... so I decided to do my own eJuice ... since I started DIY two years ago (and I'm getting pretty good at it) my wallet is very happy!!
