Just curious as to whos really watching their nic intake and if you are trying to ween yourself off of nicotine, what seems to be working for you as far as vaping habits, like do you have patterns of times you vape and times you wont, and different juices for different times/situations that overall lead towards less intake? Sorry if this seems vague....

At first I thought this was a big deal. For me anyways... I don't really watch it. I make my own juice at around 14-18mg nic. Sometimes I'll vape 0 nic for new flavors I'm trying. I think I could easily go 0 nic but.... hey, I like my nicotine personally. It helps me concentrate when I'm driving for sure.

Absolutely, I plan on weening myself down from my current 18mg strength juice to 12mg, then 6mg, and ultimately zero. I have found that I need the biggest nic kick in the morning, but in the evening I don't need as much, so I either vape less and/or I use lower strength juice.

You may want to take a gander at this subforum - Zero Nicotine Vaping and Quitting Vaping

Also planning on eventually quitting vaping. I began on 36 mg and am now at 8 mg. Evenings I vape 6 mg with some menthol added. Five months ago I began going out on short trips without my PV- maybe 1/2- 1 hr. I now sometimes go 3- 4 hrs without and it really isn't as big a deal as I thought it would be. My game plan is to be vape free Sept. 2012 BUT if it doesn't happen no big deal.
Morning first thing I vape heavy. During the day I try and have a project or two to do and keep me busy. In the evening I vape much less and 1/2 hr before beddy bye I stop. I am thinking, when I stop, of getting something to replace the physical aspect- maybe a mentholated fake cig but really don't know yet, At this point I dunno but I really do have confidence in my ability to eventually be vape free.
It's quite funny sometimes when my wife and I go out and, after we've left, she literally freaks out cuz she thinks I accidentally forgot my PV. I calm her down and tell her I purposely left it behind.
Cheers and Good Luck.
Today's project- for the first time in my life used a sewing machine to sew about 15' of material...quite a nifty lil' gadget.

I started at 24mg, then went down to 18, and now I'm vaping 16. I'd say to slowly lower your nic level without stressing yourself out.
I started at 18, but I found it was making me dizzy and sick. I like vaping, so I want to be able to do it as much as I want, hence now I am down to 6mg.

I've only been vaping since last Friday and have only used 18mg thus far. For me it's never been about the nicotine but the mental addiction. I'm used to having a cig in the morning, after eating, while driving and so on. I've started with 18mg because I was unsure of the levels and considering the analogs I used were full flavor I figured I'd start with a higher nicotine level.

I'm currently waiting on some liquid from vape dudes that is a tad less (16mg) and I'm planning on buying a smaller dose with the next order I make. I figure that even though it's not a nicotine habit for myself mainly I want to step down each level (one level per week) until I am nicotine free and just vaping cause I like it.

I started at 36mg and stayed there for a long time before I was finally able to comfortably move down to 24mg. I've slowly been transitioning down to 16-19mg. I guess I'd eventually like to move down to 12mg but I'm not stressing about it because I wanted to quit smoking and I did. Mission accomplished.

I think that my body likes and needs nicotine. I wonder sometimes if I'd be able to function if I went down to zero nic. I guess I'll see eventually... maybe.

I try to be aware of my nicotine intake because when I was smoking I would get a minor (heart) arrhythmia when I over did it (that and to much caffeine). I've talked to my doctor about it and it is nothing major, but I'm still very careful about it.

I use a large range of nicotine levels during the day; I vape 6mg most of the day, but I do jump all the way up to 18mg or even 24mg when the 6mg wont cut it. Eventually I would like to get down to 0mg, but I'm not making any big plans or schedules to quit the nic. It will happen when the time is right.

I Was a 1. 1/2 pad smoker of Marlboro smooth and started vaping 6mg. I bought a few 11mg afterwards for the throat hit and then went back to 6mg. I have no desire to every go to 0nic or quit vaping. Nicotine is no worse than caffeine and even vaping 4-6ml a day, I am not getting more nicotine than most people consume in caffeine.

Congrats on coming down so much Vapoor Eyes. sounds like you have a good plan worked out for yourself.

I to plan to at least be zero nic. i just started vaping 16 days ago i am currently using 14mg because thats what this particular ecig had to offer that i thought would work, i also ordered some 1.0 but am finding that one is a little to week right now.
I am waiting on my Volt and carts i ordered a 12 in everything this time because the 14 seems to give me a bit of a headache after 8-10 hits.

I figure i will give myself at least 3 months of vaping at a 12 then move down to next lowest and just keep doing that till i can handle a zero. But since I am new I am giving myself a year ( hopefully it won't take that long)

Ultimately i would like to NOT be vaping at all but since i smoked for 37 years I do not know if that is realistic in my life ( there is alot of stress from a son who has a traumatic brain injury from an accident 4 years ago) but I keep telling myself if he can relearn everything about life I can learn to let go of the habit (in any form).

Good luck to all those trying to stop nicotine and the hand to mouth habit....as I tell my son ( and myself) as long as your trying your not failing.
