For the level of quality and attention to detail that was put into this tank, I think it was worth buying direct from the company.
I'd be willing to pay more and order directly from SC if they truly had 'attention to detail' and sent out decks that lined up perfectly to the air holes... that's a big detail that's missing and why I'd only order from vapenw if I needed more.

I've seen many people talk about deck lining with air holes.
I got the velocity deck and when fully screwed i see the coils. The airhole drops on the first "A" of the aromamizer logo and i need to turnit to "R" to be exactly inline. About 2 mm.
Is this what most complain about or i have been lucky and others need more adjustment?
Edit: Ignore the "a" and "r" my bad in explaining. The 2 mm is correct though.

Calculating where things line up when chasing threads is nearly impossible...you'd have to machine the threads first, tighten the deck in a fixture, then mill out the rest of the deck. Or, screw the deck into the base and, again using a fixture, put the holes where you want them. It would cost much, much more to have that level of attention...you'd be looking at Russian 91% pricing at that point. If you changed decks, it wouldn't line up. These are assembled with mass produced parts, not made one at a time. You'd have to fully serialize all the parts to make sure each one was with the tank it belonged to. It just doesn't make fiscal sense to go that far, when what they've got works as well as it does.

In the end, I punched out a washer out of some thin shim stock I have and spaced it out a few thousandths of an inch to get things to line up more...but it was fine without me doing that. I was able to see most of both coils through all airholes.

Can be done with indexed threading, but as you stated, that would require more expensive manufacturing. I can't find the post so maybe I was dreaming, but I think someone said they are all lined up the same when they're made but disassembled into bins, then put together randomly at a later point... so maybe they're using indexed threading but not taking advantage of it...?

What is 'perfect' as far as airhole alignment anyway?

It really depends on what kind of coil you want to use and the draw you use.

If you draw hard when inhaling and want to use vertical coils, then having 2 air holes pointed at each side of a coil is best and you won't need the rubber AFC.

If you don't draw hard and only want to use only one hole per coil, for either vertical or horizontal, then the air hole needs to be directly aiming at the center of the coil - to be "perfect". 1-2mm to either side of dead center won't make much difference.

Also, if you're wrapping contact coils in a horizontal build, there may be space past the wick that you can get away with the air holes at each side of the coil, but in a spaced coil build, odds are the wick will block a large portion of the air flow.

If the tanks were all the same with deck alignment, at least you'd know what to expect and the type coil to use and you could decide if it was a tank you wanted to invest in.

Indexed threading...thank you. I was at a loss for the correct terminology. Partial memory loss is a .....! I've been medically retired after 28 years as a Master Toolmaker, since January of 2012, and remembering correct terminology is one of the issues that comes with my medical condition. Yes...I'm sure the parts aren't machined to match, that they're tossed into bins and later assembled. It's cheaper that way. Henry Ford used assembly lines to perfect automobile manufacturing, and the Chinese have taken it 20 steps further. The only way to make them perfect would be to add labor time in by hand fitting each deck to the base, indexing each air hole to the correct position. I don't think I could afford a tank built like that. A nice revision would be to have a rotating ring to direct the air exactly where it needs to go...but that would also negate the pricing.

I'm sure V2 will have direct airflow, an AFC ring, and possibly top fill. Hopefully if they do a top fill it is more like the Crius and less like the Bellus. I'm really hating my Bellus' top fill, I guess I didn't wick it 100% correctly and it emptied a whole tank of juice onto my VTC mini in less than 20 seconds..
Anyhow, summer time can't come any sooner, I think the Aromamizer V2 is my most anticipated item of 2016.

I couldn't remember what it was called either - credit goes to @cigatron for that.

this is how my airflow lines up. two of the holes ht the edge of my coil, and the other two are a lot closer to the posts... I can unscrew it a bit and line tow holes up with the center of the coils, but then if I block the wasted two holes the draw is to tight for me... any ideas how I could go about clocking it so teh two holes line up evenly at the edges of my coils?

I bought mine from VapeNW and my airholes are not in proper alignment. :?:
Oooooh rat turds!......lol. Seriously though, I knew you would get there eventually. Congrats:thumb:
Yeah, but I don't like that I have to unscrew the deck slightly to get my airholes aligned with the coils. :nah: Still interested? ;)

Same here. See above.

Steam Crave makes a lot of products, including upgrade parts for other companies products. Seems like burning bridges on VapeNW part for future sales, but I guess they could always go the fake info route again if they want to buy anything from SC again.

I don't feel tooo terribly bad for SC, they did get a huge order and make money off of it, but was pretty shady on VapeNW and I understand SC being mad.

Meh, too much drama for me, guess my give a ...crud is broken.

I must have got lucky with my silver and black Aromamizers. They both have a pair of air holes that line up perfectly with the center of the horizontal coils.
hi jimscotty
I don't see that as a pos or neg ! now if you build different set ups like quads or others aren't you glad you have adjustable air flow direction ?I just make a tiny little mark with a dremel on the base so I know where to back it up to for single coils usualy .knowing that I can easily offset to acommedate other builds for airflow direction .
say hallo to costa mesa fountain valley but not santa ana lol

I don't understand. What's all this about VapeNW being shady with the Aromamizer?
