@Landman I was very glad to see the contact coil bugaboo expire or go extinct with the advent of Nifethal 52.

Coupla-days ago I built and delivered a spaced Ni 200 coil to a friend. It was weird!! [emoji16]
:lol: I tried contact coils with SS430 and NiFe52 and it was weird since I've been wrapping spaced for so long. It seemed to gunk quicker so I went back to spaced.

That notwithstanding I will take your thought into consideration next time I recoil.

Not because it would be necessary but for the sake of "science". [emoji6] Just reflecting about the dog leg I believe you are correct, though my four (4) Aromas have been vaping very well, and EASY to maintain.

I think you like the stainlesssteelwire of the crown coil heads. When you got ss you don't go back lol
I never thought about that. Yea I might just have been spoiled with SS wire... Perhaps I should buy a spool of it. actually, yea, Im gonna. this vert twisted isnt getting dry or burny hits much, but it still dosent compare to my Crown. Honestly I want the vape my crown gives me with the cost (Or lack thereof) of a rebuildable.

I'm really surprised to hear you say that. I've found the Aromamiser to be the easiest RTA I have to wick, and I've not
come close to a hint of a dry hit.

I am only running it at 55 watts though. How much power are you running when you get dry hits?

Oh yeah the Aromamizer is a breeze for me now to wick, I have more issues getting the right thickness of Rayon, believe that was more the problem. Im only vaping at 30W with an 0.21 Ohm Dual Kanthal Coil right now. I havent been able to really vape past 35W in any tank it always seems to get too hot. Im more of a flavor chaser anyway if I get giant clouds thats just a bonus.

Trying to hold off buying another one of these for 25 bucks its tempting, but in a few short months I bet the V2 will be out. Really am strongly considering a few other tanks as well anyway, the Mutank in particular really is catching my eye but need to read more into it. I have 6 different tanks though already but only have figured out how to use 4 of them(the Cthulhu V2 and the Crius are still puzzling me)

But maybe by the time I figure out how to wick my Cthulhu V2 properly and use the Crius without leaking the Aromamizer V2 will come out. Hopefully bigger deck size on the Aromamizer V2, that'd be nice you know wider mainly for fitting thicker 22G wire in such in there.

I still use contact coils but only with twisted or claptons because those two create their own spaces between the wraps by virtue of their physical attributes (shape).

All my single strand builds are spaced for better wick life, less gunking and better temperature regulation.

A couple of things from me.
Cutting the cotton at the top of the coils gave me dry hits after a couple draws. In vertical setup that is.
Tried a clapton 26/34 yesterday but it was too harsh,i didn't have too tight wraps with the 34,will try again today to make a tighter one.
And went from my ordinary 26g 7 wraps to 24g 8 wraps compact.
The flavor is way better for me this way. At 45 watts no tc kanthal A1.

My Aromamizer will be up and running here in a few sporting dual single core claptons. 28 gauge nichrome wrapped with 34 gauge kanthal. These are horizinal, 4.5 wraps on 2 mm shaft though their a bit bigger.
Edit: Good. Running on rDna @ 40 watts, might have to bring out the 60 watt SXK flask.

After my first spaced coils in the Aromamizer I also built some spaced coils in my Orchid V6s, man it put some life into those older rtas. Im driving in the car and just the whole passenger side with the Aromamizer and the Orchid this pass week just completely covered with Vapor, those big clouds could be hazardous remember when driving and vaping to crack the window very slightly just to be safe. Cause after exhaling it can be tough to see for 3-4 secs lol

A question though about spaced coils. I've noticed with the dual coils I've built spaced on my Aromamizer and the Orchid V6 that my long curved drip tip doesnt work well. Is there some correlation between spaced coils and curved drip tips not hitting well. It seems to get choked up around the curve area of the drip tip, like a hiccup in the drip tip and it simply doesnt hit nearly as well as my straight long drip tips and the curved one also spits back too. Strange the curved drip tip worked great with contact coils then I switch to spaced and all of a sudden its performing horribly. Could be something else other than the spaced coil but I doubt it, the drip tip is only about a month old.

Maybe because more vapour comes in the same time between the spaces it has some weird effect. We need an expert in aerodynamics or something. In a couple decades of vaping i'm sure quantum mechanics will come into consideration also, seeing how fast the scene grows.

Oh
Sorry to hear we haven't been able to help get it quite there for you @EverPresentNoob , but glad to hear it's improved at least.
Oh it'll get there. I know it will. just like every other tank and RDA I just have to figure it out, keep asking questions posting pics of my progress and eventually someone will say "Hey try ______" and Ill have that EUREKA moment and it will all come together for me. I have faith.

In the mean time, here are a couple shots of my latest attempt. Twisted 28G, 3mm id, 7 wraps, .43 ohms. Wicked with KGD, cut flush with the edge of the juice well so the tails just brush the deck and trimmed as close to the top of the posts as I could. Lukewarm vape, not a lot of flavor still, but better than th last ones were, and no burny taste until I hit about 60% duty cycle on my PWM. I gotta find my IPV4 so I can start measuring watts for you guys...

I have already wrapped my next set of coils to try, I just havent had a chance to put them in.... Pesky work... they are going to be dual 26G spaced on a 8/32 screw horizontal wicked with KGD... Gonna pop them in when I get home tonight around 330. Fingers crossed!

And I ordered 316l in 24 and 28G earlier. Should be here by saturday.

well I got some flavor now... granted its from spitting... Sheesh... waiting for the SS wire to get here.
Throw more power at that pig. Spitting is caused by an oversaturated wick. It's just begging for you to turn up the watts man!!
If it starts to get hot turn it up even more until you detect the vapor cooling down or taste a very slight burny edge to the flavor. The perfect wattage is somewhere above spitty and below burny and the vapor will be warm and wet there.

As far as wire types go, I have never noticed a difference in taste, and why would I? , I'm not vaping wire.

Guess I need to stop fiddling with it... my spaced 26 gauge was working decently... got bored and pulled it out. Replaced it with 30g 3 strand parallel duels. Wicked, wet, fired it and took a nice big hit. Worked great. Turned up the power a touch... well somehow I turned up the power a LOT. Almost full power. Around 8 volts.... the cotton turned black. Not simged, but damn near charred on the next hit. I'm done tonight. Will play again tomorrow night. :)

I'm @ about 15ml on this build, it's a scrap of wire a guy in a local shop made, looks like 22g wrapped in twisted 32g w/rayon wick, reads 0.12 ohm, was hell getting it to fit haha. I took it up to 165W just to try and it started getting burny so 90-120W seems to be the right range for this build. Lots of heat, lots of flavor. You can see how short I have the wick tops, I'd say part of the cause for dark wicks is juice cooking on the chamber walls dripping down, you can see where one of my wicks touches the post so it's collecting all the cooked juice that builds up on top.
