Bert, every time I see that orange and black off-axis wig-wag (I have no idea what those terms mean!), I just fall in love. But, I must must must wait for mine and perhaps someday, the little orange and black will come to live with me as well. Geeze Louise, it's beautiful.

Wig-Wag is what a zig-zagged spiral is called in parts of the glassblowing world. Off axis means that the centers of the spiral were at one time the openings of a tube. I think a video might explain a little better so I will go ahead and make one next time I am doing the off-axis wig wag design. I am going to be playing with glow in the dark and dichro on friday though...

Hi,

In lieu of posting my drip tip, I thought I'd post a picture of my REO project. This is what I plan to put one--or two--or more drip tips on.

The door was made by my brother, who is a machinist by trade. It is solid brass and has been given and engine-turned finish. Each of the swirls has been polished into the surface of the brass. The rows are turned in opposite directions, to give it that prism effect.

There is a bit of surface scratching, but it's not so apparent in real life. I might get another version made, now that the specs are worked out and we know it fits and functions properly.

The drip shield is from the good people at Empire. I plan on letting the finish go on the brass and see what happens. I can always polish it back out. I don't know if I'm liking the drip shield or not.

I'd love to top this off with a tip from Bert, as it needs the right finishing touch. Hopefully there are some Loki's, Double Amber or Caramel tips coming up, and I can get one to finish this off.

How much is that door, with the window?
The one with the waggley polished-swirl tails?
How much is that door, with the window?

I do hope that door is for sale...

LOL--Thank you all for the compliments, but I'm sorry to inform you that door isn't for sale. It was a gift. My brother has asthma, and he hates smoking. I've been cig free for 6 months, so he made me the door. There is a ridiculous amount of time in it. Each of those swirls is put in by hand via an End Mill, which is sort of like a drill press.

That door is fantastic! Your bro its very talented. I think it might just be your lucky week this week as far as the tips you requested goes.
