I'm surround by the State Park, Cedar Hill Habitat and hiking trails, and Audubon lands on more than three sides. It is very wild out here. My wild area comes up to the house on one side and is no further away than a few yards except for the narrow, mowed stip of part of back yard.
I just love reading your stories! Good info too about getting a snake off by sticking it under water. I had to laugh when I started reading today and your stories popped up first because I got up close to a snake today while out kitten hunting at school. We have one or two feral mamas that keep dropping litters. I got one of the babies last fall and temporarily snagged another today because the teacher who wants it doesn't know how to bottle feed or make it pee. Still cannot find the rest. As I was walking along I heard a quick continuous movement away from me in the leaves and knew it was a snake. At least he went away from me lol. Keep writing!
How things change. I remember the story of 420 coming out in an issue of High Times. I think I was about to finish college for the first time and the Waldos were still in or just out of highschool. Had to laugh when I saw a link today to this old 2010 post at the Huffington post. The true story
