My comment might not get published, because it could be misconstrued as a personal attack:

Michael S. Sommer uses "propylene glycol" and "ethylene glycol" in the same sentence as though they are equivalent chemicals. They have very different toxicological profiles. Propylene Glycol (PG) has been pronounced "Generally Recognized as Safe" (GRAS) by the FDA and is an additive in many foods and medicines. Ethylene Glycol is so toxic that spilled antifreeze used to kill any animal that lapped it up, which is why manufacturers were asked to switch to PG instead. If Sommer really is a chemist, he must know these things. So the question comes to mind, "Why is he trying to mislead us?"
