Oba Oba is a tobacco that sometimes tastes like bubblegum, and sometimes tastes like cotton candy. I know that it has some vanilla in it, and made by FA so I stopped vaping it. I really miss it.

I will take a look at vapers etc. Thanks for the info on the vanilla tobacco. :)

Vandervape,
You can order your favorite,Oba Oba,with the new formulation directly through flavourart from Italy, add this flavor to a non-flavored nic juice, and you will get your favorite flavor back but knowing it is safe to vape.Hope this helps. I stll haven't asked Max at F/A ,however, about the acetoin and acetyl propionyl ,and these are just as dangerous! Does anyone here know if Flavourart uses these in their vanilla or creamy flavorings?

I know there have been several updates on the lists, and I'm not sure I have access to all of the lists that came out. The first one I have is from Nov.23rd,but I understand there was an older one before that one. I would like to know if chocolate or marshmallow have been on any of the lists???
Thanks a bunch!

I wish I could DIY, but we have room mates and the house isn't clean like we want it. And wouldn't the shipping be really expensive as well? But yeah otherwise I didn't know that they were making Oba Oba with a new formula. Does anyone know of updates on FSUSA carrying the new formulas and if they contain the other above mentioned issues?
I'm still working through trying to find a good all around supplier. I think I have one then I read reviews on floral tasting vapes, or mucus issues, this and that and it makes me want to pull my hair out.

Ok guys I am contacting flavorArt and here's what I wrote. Hopefully they will respond and give a list that is clearer so that we can breathe easier and just order juice. :)

A group of us have been keeping a copy of your updated list and posting it to let other customers know which flavors still contain diacetyl.
The issue is that some flavors are more complex and we can't tell what exactly is in them. Is there a way that you can make a list of ones that have been cleared (for example Oba Oba, Vanilla Tahiti.) We just want to know which ones that we can buy and vape with no worries.

Thank you,

Shell

We are not allowed to post private emails here but I did ask Max from FA about removing Diacetyl on 11/28/10. Part of his response stated they were in the process of removing Diacetyl from their flavorings and "We DO NOT replace it with acetyl propionyl or similar ketones.."

"in the process" - why not just IMMIDIATELY REMOVE any flavors that contain it?

11/28 was two months ago.

TC

Great question and it will be three months tomorrow.

I am kind of stuck on this one. Do we blame FA or the suppliers who knowingly use their Diacetyl containing flavorings? FA flavorings were originally created to be ingested by mouth and not vaporized and inhaled into the lungs. I will say that I respect FA for recognizing the potential dangers and changing their formulations. Can we say the same for some of the juice suppliers out there?-

FA has stepped up and made a list. Our suppliers have not and refuse to. So I honestly hold my supplier accountable because they are knowingly still distributing it. I heard that VB had one juice that contained it and took it off their list. Props to them (their juice isn't to our tastes is all.)

I am currently pulling my hair out trying to figure out between to vendors of which to order from this next month. We have to be able to choose 50/50 ratio, be Diacetyl free, no alcohol, no perfumy taste, has big bottles, and doesn't overcharge.

If just one vendor would step up with those specs I would be a happy camper. lol

I am fighting between Gourmet Vapor, and Vapor Renu.

anyway back on subject. lol (sorry I just had to throw a little bit of a rant there.)

what measurements are those in? mg/g, ppm, etc?
and are the comma's (,) meant to be decimal points?

Deus, here is the link to FA's diacetyl info page. The comma is used as a decimal point. Fa's info page used to give ratio but I didn't see it as I skimmed this updated info. Seems it was % per 100ml but I could be way off. At any rate, there has not been a PEL established for inhalation. We have had several people crunch numbers over the last few months of debate on this issue, but that seems meaningless if there is no safe level status. Some people care, some don't...

I will definately not buy from FSUSA (FreedomSmokeUSA) anymore. Not only because of what is in some (or all) of their liquid but also due to the unprofessional responses they dealt back in regards to the safety of their product. In my eyes, that is the signs of a business blinded by greed and MONEY MONEY MONEY!

I have wondered how that company keeps going with immaturely and uncaringly locking threads shut just b/c a concerned consumer asks questions they absolutely have the right to ask. I'm so thrilled that consumers are alert and safety conscious enough to ask. I think (and hope) that this company is slitting their own throat by this kind of insane, uncaring behavior to line their own pockets. It should be in ANY company's best interest to be doing massive, massive research on the products they offer the public, which could encompass the whole nation, especially IRT the diacetyl issue.

Exactly. If thats how FSUSA (FreedomSmokeUSA) is going to be I wouldn't call them a trusted supplier. I do not like their juices anyway which I am glad after seeing how they operate. Nobody should be putting profit obove consumer health and safety. I certainly would advise against buying anything from FSUSA.

just read the flavourart article.. I don't see any flavors on there that I would care to vape anyway.. can you imagine vaping salmon.. potatoes.. corn or beef!!

LOL, I've heard reviews of ppl who have bought some pretty nasty sounding odd-ball juice like that. Then they open a thread to tell everyone how awful it was. I am very amused at such easily entertained people. I love black olives and also guacamole, but that doesn't mean I would every think about ordering those flavors to vape if they ever became available, LOL.

And just for a little trivia, cattle raised for human consumption is shot so full of hormones, antibacterial meds, steriods, BHA/BHT and preservatives. By the time it's processed it no longer tastes like beef, so the food industry have to buy beef flavoring to marinate the meat in before it is sold to the unaware public. Isn't that gross? I gave up dirty meat for that reason, and I can't even stand to smell it cooking.

Ok guys this all isn't just about one supplier in general. We have suppliers that wont even simply tell us what their ratio of pg/Vg is. Much less what flavoring that they use. I call that even worse customer service, bathtub mixing etc. There are ones that wont answer the phone, wont answer emails, etc. What makes us trust one vendor over another? What because they told us that their juice doesn't contain this or that? It doesn't matter because until someone shows me actual proof (has a legal print out, posted to their site, and I can clearly read it) data sheet I have to go and trust a supplier, any supplier not to be putting something harmful into my juice. Yep I would totally go Diy, but I want to live in a cleaner inviroment without roomates before I do. Until then I will have to order premade juices and just give into hoping something in the juices doesn't make me worse off.

On our foods we have a list of ingrediants that are used to make the said food product. I believe that this needs to be don't for every juice as well.

And yep I will be going back to fsusa. Why?? Because I found my favorite juices there that I can spend less money on and vape daily. Now that the Fa updated my two favs I can have them again. Until someone can tell me of another supplier where they have juices really close to what I vape I have no alternative. I've tried other juices lately and I don't have the money to jump from company to company hoping that i end up with juice that I can vape.

Ok enough of a rant. Lol

I read a post where a manufacturer comments that they substitute "Acetylpyrazine" in recipes that call for "Diacetyl" when possible. It also says that Acetylpyrazine is from the same family as Diacetyl, but different.

Does anyone know if "Acetylpyrazine" is safe to use?

Also, what are the dangers of "acetoin" and "acetyl propionyl" that I read a few of you complaing about?
