nothing wrong with clones ;) it's the counterfeit ones that get to me. no reason to duplicate trademarks ever .................

btw that 'made in germany' was on the packaging not on the atty ;)

I totally agree. I saw a picture of a clone that had "Made in Germany" engraved on the bottom of the tank. That's just unacceptable.

That is not acceptable and a ploy to fool the public into thinking they are getting something which is not the case. I have never bought a clone. Sure plenty of name brands made in China but not a clone. I have never made a coil either but the K4 has my attention as it will have the new P3 head as a option. I know Kanger and even Aspire are coming out with P3 versions so I'll wait and see the test results. I have been fortunate enough to be able to purchase original equipment even those made in China, but I purchase them from USA vendors as I want to see some of the money I earned in this country stay in this country. I ended up in this thread with not owning a Aspire Naughty, but I have 3 Beyond Vape Silos which use the Aspire BVC coils. Now I found out their chimneys are made from brass as well. Kind of think the same company makes all those chimneys.

I agree. I buy locally whenever I can. Unless an item I really want is not available in the States.

But the same is true for buying Svoemesto's original products from Germany--not a penny of those purchases stays here... ;)

There are US vendors who sell them. Rev something does, and Vape 101 has them as does Beyond Vape.

OK now that you guys have scared the CRAP out of me, what is a suitable and safer replacement?
I don't want to go back to my smoktech cartos+6ml delrin plastic tank, cause, well, inhaling heated plastic vapors can't be good either. That's why I went nauty. (And when I look where the BVC screws in to the chimney on both my nautiluses it sure has a goldish look).

I'm not nearly sophisticated enough to rebuild. I've read a good portion of this thread but am at work so can't read the whole thing.

Is there a safe off the shelf 510 tank system that vapes well a and doesn't have brass (and possibly fiberglass) in it?

It's nothing to be scared about but it is concerning to some of us, more than anything it's the lack of transparency that's concerning.

Rebuildables really aren't that difficult but I believe someone mentioned that one or more of the Kanger tanks is glass and ss.

I agree. I'm more upset about the lying than I'm about actual materials used in Aspire line. That fiberglass/ceramic in their coils worries me more than the brass chimney, actually.

I never worried about plastics myself--even Kayfuns come with plastic tanks. Eliquids don't get hot in the tank--if they do, you're doing it wrong. ;) And most of our ejuices come in plastic bottles, anyway. We drink water, juice and milk from plastic bottles...

Aerotanks are ss and glass--I use them and I like them. The ProTanks are chromed something or other--they are not ss, but they also don't have internal threads inside the chimney, like Nautilus, so the chrome stays there pretty much undisturbed and unscratched.

No need to be scared--just be informed and choose your vaping hardware wisely. There's always risk--I choose to avoid unnecessary, avoidable risk, as a general rule.

If you don't want to go to a rebuildable, my suggestion is try the Kanger.

They must have changed their practices because my KFL v2 by ehpro doesn't have any markings. Unfortunately my magma clone did come with logos but at least it doesn't have a fake country of origin printed on it.

Yup, that's the latest "fashion." Very bad form, is you ask me.

I'm looking at kangers right now. There's a vast array available, with various incompatible parts, and wacky naming and versioning. I'm having trouble finding one that's stainless steel, but also uses replaceable (not rebuildable) atomizers.
Can anyone provide a link to a US vendor's page for a true stainless steel kanger, and a link to the coil packs? I apologize for asking such a dumb internet question but I really am having trouble.

EDIT: Went to good ol' WorldOfVape. Found the Kanger Aerotank Mega. Don't like that it's only 3.8ml (and you're not supposed to let it get below 1/3rd full, so I'll have to carry juice) but I like that it comes with both pyrex and ss tubes, and the link to the needed coil packs was right there. And they must be having a sale, when I went to checkout it was like $25, coils were $7.24, with shipping $36. Wow! I kinda wish it were bigger, but it appears (and I'm hoping) to be just glass and stainless steel. And I'm hoping the coils don't have some wacky fiberglass-stuff!

EDIT2: Description here http://www.kangeronline.com/products/aerotank-mega-clearomizer says "stainless steel body". I sure hope that doesn't mean brass/chrome chinmey or I just blew gas money :(

If you don't want to go to a rebuildable, my suggestion is try the Kanger.

I heard the aerotanks were good. But I don't know. Somebody on here mentioned it on this thread, not far back. I've never used Kanger products. I was going to buy a Kanger tank, but the local brick and mortar recommended the Aspire, lucky me. I just started vaping the end of October. Wish I could help you more. Someone should come along soon. If not, go the the Kanger forum on here, I am sure they have one.

All Aerotanks (and Emow Mega) are stainless and glass. Any Kanger dual-coil atty will work, but I prefer the enclosed ones with two slots (one per side); the enclosed ones with with 4 holes don't wick so well. If you want to rebuild them, get the old dual-coils heads with whiskers--they are the easiest to clean, dry burn, and rebuild. No fiberglass in sight. Just make sure you get the original Kanger--there are some knokoffs out there, apparently, especially coils, and those are bad.

Speaking of fiberglass--I really would like to know what that filler is made out of. In the latest review of the Atlantis, Phil Busardo took the coil head apart, placed that filler on the hot coil and it burned like a carto filler, according to him. Strange.

Good luck!

Where are you sourcing the Slotted or the old Dual Coils with Whiskers from?

Every coil package that I have received so far has the 4 Hole Coil type.

Just a quick update. My Nautilus Mini (after 2 months of use).
All that glitters ain't gold :) Before taking the pics, I tried to wipe it with a paper towel. Yellow golden particles all over the paper towel...
I really think that is a clone. None of my Nautilus mini's have any loss of nickel plating, and I clean, buff, them regularly. (I have a touch of cleanliness OCD).
