Hey mate, there's two issues to note:

1. Aspire lied to it's customers and sold them a stainless steel tank that actually had a chromed-brass chimney (may have been nickel-plated). As the plating wears off, usually around threads, it exposes the brass which can leech into eliquid or oxidize (rust).

2. You may not actually have an authentic, as I'm pretty sure the chromed issue was related to just the chimney, not around the drip tip, or the base if that's what you meant by where the coil screws in.

Oh my heavens, laithe66! EXPLODING COILS!!!! 8-o You poor young man. How's your mouth? Do you crank up your wattage and take huge lung hits? I've been using both sizes of Nauti's since last Sept. and have had no problems whatsoever; but then, I'm not a high wattage/voltage user. :p

As for rusting, just took apart all four Nauti's, took pins out, washed in hot water, poked, prodded under a magnifying glass.....So far no sign of rust. Whew! I do favor "tank breaker" juices as well. :D

Appears to be rusting ? or is it an accumulation of juice ? wipe it with a q-tip and you will get your answer

something i learned about china crap, don't soak it for very long, and dry it immediately after rinsing ,then try to keep it covered in VG or PG

It is rusting its an authenthic I'm not sure if I still have the box but if it was juice it wouldn't smell like rust, wiped it and everything and its the spring itself.

It's authenthic double checked the serial number and everything is there a way to remove the rust batman ?

Got the box? Plastic or pressed paper insert? If it was in flimsy black plastic its not authentic.

Authenthic with everything said as far as I remember I will find the box but anyways I did contact them a few days ago, no reply whatsoever from their end, what is going on? I thought aspire products were good....guess not.

Hi. I get the same thing in my authentic Nautilus tanks. It's either the spring or the center pin. As jwbnyc said in post #7, pop it out, clean, and reassemble. There is no outlet for liquid down there, and it's hard to get it dry without disassembling it.

Not sure if it is rust, but it tastes like rust. Maybe some chem reaction between 2 dissimilar metals? I took it all apart and after cleaning and drying, couldn't see any real damage to the pin or spring. But that taste doesn't get into my vape taste. Aspire does sell replacement parts for the Nauty.

Regarding the chromed chimney. If the top threads on the COIL aren't good, this causes the threads to grind and cut the plating away. Look careful at the coil's top threads. I dressed a few of mine with a very fine file.

Personally, I like Beyond Vape's Silo Lite over the mini Nautilus. 3.5ml vs 2ml, all stainless steel with the pyrex, much easier to unscrew, not as easy to break and you get a second SS drip tip. And it's $15.

I know juice build up can easily look like rust. I clean mine thoroughly about once every 2 days.

Cleaned it with alcohol and water and q tips the brown stain is still there so I'm thinking its rust

Yeah no vape difference from what I could recall. I've cleaned it but it still has brown stains as well as the replacement tank has it and was curious as to how to clean it off. How'd you do it?

I still have 2 China cheapy atty i am using ,been in use for almost 3 years now and they have not rusted ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,yet

first off,,don't soak them over night ,rinse really well in hot water and towel dry ,then coat them with some juice

to clean it,a dremel with the brass wire wheel is the best way, barring that ?? use 000 steel wool and follow the for mentioned cleaning process

I'll sand it if anything dont have a dremel and not really keen on buying one just to save this thing t.t

That is strange, I would replace it. How long have you been using it?

My Atlantis box has a hologram and appears to be a higher quality packaging.

Atlantis' are different and about 3 months..
