Aspire Quad flex and Cleito 120 RTA kit - home-brew recommendations

I've got a box of this wire on order, and am looking to dip my toe in the world of DIY coils. I'll be giving the Ni200 a miss, as I want to stick with wattage mode, but will have a choice of:

• 26g kanthal A1 wire
• 26g 316 stainless steel wire
• 26g nichrome wire
• 3x 28g twisted kanthal wire
• 26g + 28g kanthal clapton wire

What would folks recommend that I start off with? I think I'm dexterous enough to try something more adventurous than just a plain or Clapton coil, but there is no way I can get into the 3/4 wire builds etc [says the presumptious fool].

More importantly, what design of self-build coils would get the best out of these two tanks? I'm looking to meet or exceed the performance of the stock Nautilus X quad flex in RTA mode or the Cleito 120, but my main motive is keeping costs down long term, and having fun.
