assistance with eGo Visions stardust

I just got my first ones of these yesterday. They are the 2.1-2.4 ohm 1.6ml version with the longer wicks. I have filled one with Basic juice (100% VG), and let it sit, when I vape, I get that slightly dry/burned taste I used to get when my atomizer (pre cartomizer usage) was dry. Not always, but often, like every 5th or 6th puff. I am using it on an ego upgrade p/t battery at the 4.2volt setting. It happens on the lower setting, as well. I can alleviate it by tipping the clearo so that juice goes to the atty (at the top), usually.
Any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else?

...........????????????bump.............help....Also, it happens more frequently as the juice level gets lower (particularly at .5ml and below.

if its the replaceable head version 2 remove the stem and pull up on the rubber cover on the coil to allow the wicks to not be pinched may help 100% VG wick better.
