A friends birthday party at a bar with sliding panels raised that open to the outside. And probably the absolute worst place for an ex smoker to keep their resolve. Smokers blowing out the stench of their cigarettes all around me along with the usual "beverages."

Had it not been for my PV I'd certainly have back tracked and lit up and looking back at similiar situations when I'd quit many years before, I would have been smoking analogs all night and smoking them again.

So, I had my beverages, PV in my hand and vapor coming from my lips. Everything I needed at the time.

Still tabacco free for 1 month + and survived the "acid test" that I can say, with complete honesty, that I wouldn't have passes any other way!

I'll be patting myself on the back for this achievement for some time to come.

About 1 week after I quit analogs completely (due to a tongue cancer diagnosis) was my 50th birthday. Then-SO planned a big sort-of surprise party for me- for the birthday and also for the good news that the cancer had all been removed and I didn't need chemo or radiation. It was going to be lots of beer, food and friends.

I gotta tell you- I was REALLY nervous about failing that night. I made sure I had a bunch of charged batteries, loads of carts and juice. I really didn't want technical difficulties to sideline my quit.

And they didn't. I made it through with flying colors- didn't even really want an analog, even though several people around me were smoking.

I knew then, that I was going to be able to stay quit :)

Awesome-Great job under the stressers. I can't seem to get past a day yet

Several weeks ago, I went to shoot a few racks of pool with my oldest daughter. The place was full of smokers and rather poorly ventiliated. I thought it would be hard, but it really wasn't. I had an Ego VV 1100 and a pair of Evod tanks full of 24mg liquid.

But when I got home... Eww. I smelled absolutely awful and went straight to the shower. I can't believe I smelled like that once.

I think I know where you are. For me, the hardest part of finally quitting while vaping was getting over the anxiety of being out of cigarettes. I steeled up and convinced myself that I wasn't buying another pack after "this one" was finished.

The anxiety was still there. But I continued to resist. After a day or so, the anxiety passed and it's been sunny skies and fair sailing since.

Another thing that really helped was having some strongly flavored tobacco flavors on hand. If I'd had Boba's Bounty back in April...

Good job OP. Keep it up

I am another "1 month-er" and i welcome any opportunity to be around cigarette smoke. I feel like I cant keep running from it. I have to face it head-on as soon as possible and see how I do.

The more I am around it, the easier it gets!

Keep it up!

Jam, I hear ya. I still hang out in alot of smoking bars. Heck, I was tested the very first day I decided to go tobacco free by being invited out to a bar with some friends, and the bar was a smoking bar and my friends were smokers. From the first day on, I have taken the stance of...I cant hide from it. Been working for me. I have had 2 drags(drags not full smokes) of cigarettes in almost 6 weeks, and those 2 drags were out of curiosity, not desire.

It is different for everyone, but for me, not being around smokers was not an option, so I faced it head on, early.

I once quit for 6 weeks, didn't miss 'em felt no cravings and was cruising along and got blindsided by a family reunion and beer. Started smoking that day and could kick myself for letting it happen.

When I quit this time, the first 5 days I was using a Blu and we had a dinner party where I knew I'd be drinking and if I wasn't careful I'd break down and get a pack of cigs. I went out the day before the party to a B&M in Denver and picked up a couple c-twists and protank II's and juice just to make sure I had what I needed to get me through the evening. It went wonderful. I was able to sit at the table with our friends, drink and vape with no urges to smoke and no complaints from anyone. This technology is a blessing and I'm sure there are a lot of people that feel the same way! Kudos for passing the test. :D

Here's another couple hundred pats-on-the-back for when your arm gets tired. Congratulations!

I know what you mean here. I'm not having any trouble resisting smoking while out at a smoking bar. But, like you, I have had two drags off of a friend's smoke on two different occasions. Out of curiosity.

But unlike a lot of people that I've seen posting, I DID like the taste. I could totally see me going right back to smoking if I'm not careful. Being around the smoke does not make me want to smoke, but if I TASTE a smoke......that's where I could get in trouble. lol

I'm still not out of cigarettes.... I have the same four packs from 6 months ago, right there in the place I kept my packs for years. I think it helped not to use them up. that way I was never out, and being out of smokes would have kept me up nights

I still got a closed pack, that I had the day before I bought the Vamo kit (the carton I had also purchased right before then, I gave to my daughter, before I converted her to vaping also)
