Whats up guys, new guy here from FL and i've been doing some research on how to rebuild/rewick the atlantis coils and i would like to know what awg wire would i need to get close to oem specs of 0.5ohms of the atlantis. Ive been looking at wire from my vapor store , 28awg should put me in 0.5ohm based on the info on the website or am i mistaken? Also i've been looking into ordering a ohms reader from ebay , i cant post a link but this is the item number 221631521242 from the one i've been looking at , would it read the rebuilt heads?

That would definitely work in determining your ohms. It's the one I use and works quite well. As for which wire to use...someone might help you out but I'm not entirely sure. Have you tried to reverse engineer that sucker. You might be able to eyeball the wire gauge and coil size if you break it down.

I took it apart but this is my first time re-building a coil so i cant really tell what awg is used in the oem coils.

If 28 gauge wire is what you have, just duplicate the coil you are looking at (same diameter/same # wraps/same spacing), put if all together, put it on an ohm reader and measure it.

Whatever you decide, just don't fire it on a mod before you have measured it.

Here are a few links for you regarding building coils and getting the resistance just where you want it:

1. Steam Engine
2. Coil Toy Calculator
