Yea I'm going to do that and see if it's good for me. I'm still in a dilemma because of how expensive the atlantis coils are and they're not really around in shops yet. With the subtank they're cheaper and easier to rewick. But I guess theres a tradeoff, you pay more for the quality vs. the subtank mini.
Although I can't compare to the Kanger series since I've never owned one. But I've been eyeballing the new ni200 atlantis coils that vaporshark peddles. I'm sure I will when I'm on my last coil.

Yea, I'm still waiting for the temp control to pan out before I dive in. Vapor shark has had the nickel coils for at least a month now I do believe. I'm just going to wait and see more than one review; and weigh the options of spending $50-100 on a TC box I probably do not need.
Lol quite right I'm usually hanging out in the TC threads and the thoughts on the atlantis ni200 have been positive. I believe I came across a Dovpo TC 50w box that was around $36ish which would be great to get your feet wet with minimal damage to the pocketbook. With that in mind is I'm sure you've guessed TC is a whole different beast and isn't for everyone.

Ehpro just released a 50w TC too for 44.99. My eleaf and ipv2 mini and spoolz of easily made kanthal still work just fine, we sold out all 10 IPv4s in like 2 days, one guy had some nickel wire, got to wrap one, wasn't too thrilled about the sensitivity of the wire spacing and whatnot. It did hit good, but then again, so does any rebuildable tank, or subtank these days

That right there just nails it you don't see the need then no reason to do it lol.

For what it's worth, I have the Subtank mini, Atlantis, and Atlantis V2.

I'll agree, some Subtanks do have slight leaking issues, usually out of the airholes. I have one that leaks slightly if it gets put on its side, and one that works great.
I prefer the flavor of it over the Atlantis, though I get bigger clouds from the Atlantis.
The Atlantis V2 has better flavor and clouds than the Subtank mini.
The Subtank stock coils are horizontal, while the Atlantis' are vertical. I find the Subtank coils easier to build, but the Atlantis' easier to wick.

That being said, I have the Melo, Starre, and Matrix as well. Out of the 6 Subtanks I own, the Matrix hits the top of my favorites really easily.
Flavor kills the Atlantis V2, and cloud production is about the same at similar wattages. The Matrix can overpower the Atlantis, I've taken mine to 100w, and can give much bigger clouds, and ridiculously thick vapor while keeping the flavor up.
Side note: Stock coils are vertical, and about the same difficulty as the Atlantis.

At ~$30, I can't recommend the Matrix enough.
The Starre is a very close second. The Melo has been a bit lackluster for me.

This site has the Matrix for $25.

I've been doing some research and a lot of people have been talking highly about the Matrix and the Starre. I might just pick one of those up after I use up the atlantis occ coils I got coming. I've seen a lot of videos about the Starre being good, but no comparison really between the two. My local vape shop has both the matrix and starre in stock but why is the matrix better for you? Is it really a subjective difference?

You know, it really is subjective.
I've found virtually no performance difference between the Starre and Matrix.
The capacity is the same, the materials feel like similar workmanship, and the coils are built to similar specs (including the giant juice intake, which is my favorite part of both the Starre and Matrix.) I think I may get slightly more airflow out of the Matrix, thanks to the cyclops slot on the drip tip, but it's pretty negligible.

I think my preference lies with the aesthetics. I'm not crazy about the Starre's knurled airflow control ring, and it feels a little top-heavy on some of my shorter devices. But boy-oh-boy, does it work like a dream.
I don't think you'd be unhappy with either.

I'm definitely going to be getting the matrix with a new box mod after i finish these atlantis coils out.. Maybe the sigelei 100 w plus will be paired with it (not sure what else is out there thats decently priced but powerful). After looking into it, everything has been positive, and it seems to beat all the other tanks when compared. Im excited to get it in a couple weeks. That being said what wattage range is a good "sweet spot" and do you like the .2 or the .6 ohm coil?

The nickel Atlantis coils are awesome. I'm using it now in an Atlantis 2 tank and I have it cranked at the 40 watt limit of the rDNA40 and it isn't at the limit of the coil. I feel that there is still room to crank the power up even more.

Eh doubt it any time soon my GT-T v2 clone came in and I'm messing with that and ni200 coiling.
