One more question. Do you guys have the originals or clones? And it the latter, which ones? I really need to place that order.

100% clone. And as I only wanted to try out the airflow, I went for the cheapest clone:
$12.85 Tripod Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 2ml / 316 stainless steel + glass / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Free Shipping
I've been pleasantly surprised by the maching, o-rings and the fact that everything functions just as it should.

Thanks, I have that one and the Ulton $24.95 ULTON Tripod Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 2ml / stainless steel + glass / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Free Shipping in my cart, but if you like it, I'll go with the cheaper version.

I have just a few of the Ulton versions @Katya, and I can confirm that they do have the removable chamber and chimney reducer.

I have heard that some clone versions don't though.

I was afraid of that, but I read the Discussion section on FT and they say that in this no-name clone both are removable. @AngeNZ will now for sure.

Earlier I decided to change-up my Tripod (IM).

I removed the 1.8mm AF insert pin and the chamber reducer. Installed an AVS 26/30 316L clapton with a 3mm ID at 0.55Ω. I used Tidi rayon for my wick. Changed up DT's to something more open as well.

Using the AFC ring, and closing it down from fairly tight to 1/2 or even 3/4's open, I am able to get a very respectable MTL at 14.5-24w. Or run the AFC ring wide open at 18w plus for a very airy MTL/RDL. And took it up to 40w restricted DL and DL.

It performs excellently at all settings I tried. Flavor is wickedly awesome. The Tripod is a super versatile rta.

The Tripod does an excellent (tight to very airy) MTL with no AF pins and no chamber reducer.

Those of you who have a Tripod I would urge you to try it without AF pins or chamber reducer. You will be very surprised IMO.

On both the OG and the clones the chamber is the lower part of the tank assembly. It can be disassembled along with everything else for cleaning. See the 1st pic of the manual I posted on pg1 (my first post) for all parts.

The chamber reducer is removable from the chamber on the OG and all the 2 of the clones.

Hopefully that clears it up for you.

    Make sense???

I can shoot a photo if you need to see. Lemme know. :)

@AngeNZ is running hers with no chamber reducer. ;) I am also running one of mine with no reducer.

I expected it to be badly machined and leak like a sieve. But as I was so unsure if it had my style of airflow, I didn't want $25 to end up sitting in a drawer :D There's a discontinued clone on FT which had problems, along with a proprietary DT and non-removable chamber. The version I got functions as it should - removable chambers, chimney and DT, along with a spare set of seals and o-rings. Comparing it to other RTAs I've got - the machining and finishing was absolutely fine

Haha, yes I do see and am totally convinced. It is amazing and kicks ..... I love how You think outside-the-box in your NZ/LunaLab creating the killer Frankenvape!

As you, @Katya and pretty sure @Opinionated and @NolaMel have noted there is a segment of vaper's who aren't straight-up regular MTL and want an airier MTL. And you are all correct, there are MTL RTA's with not enough air, then this <<<[VOID]>>> and then right into RDL/DL tanks. I get it.

And it's not a screwed up vaping style at all. You got me there last year with the X (ty).

Tripod aside, I found a label idea for your DIY creations. I'm sure you will get pretty creative and fashion something cooler with Photoshop or Illustrator. ;)

it's an actual retail vape juice / there are several clones of it at ELR / could be changed into maybe a good ice cream flavor ???

Right? The proper MTLs usually stop at 1.8mm hole under the coil--just a tad too tight for me. And the DLs start at 4 or 5mm.

Ms @Katya have you taken the Tripod plunge yet?

It is without doubt my best flavour RTA. I've been trying different things with its wicking. My favourite way to wick it is with long tails like in @ShowMeTwice 's post here:

    Photo from GrimmGreen's review:

I run it slightly loose in the coil. The result? Amazing flavour, no dry hits, no leaking, just perfection

I'm about to. I got my Ares 2 and it's nice, but not quite what I expected. Still not sure about those other RTAs in my cart--do I need both Dvarws? It looks like the MTL FL has enough different inserts to make me happy. Tripod is most definitely in, so is Hellvape MD.

    *sigh*

Deck screws rust, very badly. I hope this issue is fixed in later batches.
SS304 screws offer peace of mind but a bit worse results on grip (coil wire).

I have both types and both work well for me on my Tripod's.

Fairly certain those should work in the Ulton as I understand it to be 1:1.

    ETA: M2.5 x 4mm screw search.

Somebody on FT recommended those repalcement screws.

$0.75 Replacement Screws for Atomizers (10-Pack) 10-pack - M2.5*4mm thread size at FastTech - Free Shipping

They are in my cart, just in case.
