Hello. Iv been using this site for research purposes for the past month now and have purchased my first e-cig and signed up.

About a week ago I decided on the model I wanted and purchased a Joye 510 from cignot.

It arrived yesterday and I read through all the manuals and everything and gave it a go. I did not order any e-liquid at the time because I wanted to try the damn thing out before I spent too much money on something I might not enjoy using.

Many people have said that these atomizers need to be broken in. Which basically means to my knowledge that they need to be smoked until the primer has been burned completely out of the atomizer before it is going to taste good. BUMMER

Cignot included a piece of paper warning of this and gave advice on how to get it broken in faster. They say to drop e liquid right onto the bridge of the atomizer to help cover the taste and also top the cart off. Because I did not have eliquid I thought I could skip this step completely and begin vaping.

So the horrible taste started to get worse and I thought this could not be normal. I decided to investigate.

I pulled the cartridge off and what I found was NOT pleasant. The edge of the cart that goes furthest into atty was melting. There were also some burnt fibers on the filling in the cart.

Now, I refuse to give up on this bc so many people are loving these things. I have many ideas what is going wrong I just need some advice from experienced users and I cant even post a question in the right spot of the forum because im a newb. I really hope someone can help me!

I have only been using one cartridge since yesterday and have only smoked it about 7 times. It has been consistently making "vapor" since. When I pulled the filler out there was still liquid in it so I know I havent used it up.

Is there supposed to be a white string or wick under the bridge in the atomizer?

Could it be burning my plastic cart because there isnt enough juice in the atomizer?

Could this be because I am not inserting the cart in on the atomizer properly?

Or is it because I am hitting the e cig too often and it is heating up?

There is also always a noise when I hit the e cig , similar to water evaporating off a frying pan or a crackling/sizzling.

Last question. The filler on the cartridge does not come flush with the top on the cart and it is still burning a bit somehow. In the mod videos I have seen people cut the filler right to the top of the cart. Why is my filler burning slightly when it doesnt come flush with the top on the cart and they cut theirs flush.

I am very confused.
Any advice or help is really appreciated. Thank you.

BTW I have e juice on the way which should be here thursday or friday.

Do what DHEnthusiast says first. It does sound like your cart may be on sideways. Have you tried a different cart yet? It also sounds like it may be a little dry. There may be liquid at the bottom of the cart, but it may not be getting to the bottom where you need it. You want the filler closest to the atty to be nice and moist.

Also, make sure you watch MistressNomad's "I made videos for newbies...)" in the stickies. She explains the part about making sure the cartridge is lined up w/ the atty properly.
