While all these suggesions are good; water, IPA, and PGA will remove dried juice with a good soak. None will touch the carbonized (burnt) juice that builds up on the coil itself. I've put a piece of the charcoal that I pulled off the coil in a couple of my dead attys in each liquid and after a weeklong soak, there was no effect. The most effective methond I have found for removing this is a dry burn, however it is also a good way to kill the atty. I've had good results with running them through the ultrasonic cleaner then blasting them with the steam cleaner. The agitation of the ultrasonic seems to break up the chunk and the pressure of the steam will blast it off the coil.
