Not to mention under load a fresh battery is NOT firing at 4.2v. A mech cannot regulate any amount Of wattage gives an inconsistent vape. That's the appeal in my eyes, regulating higher watt vape. Let's say for argument a fresh battery would fire at 4.2v on a .58ohm coil, you get that 30watts for MAYBE 1 whole pull. It immediately decreases every press of that button

I forgot to mention that and it is a good point. With these regulated devices, you can sub-ohm or, higher ohm, at 30w until the battery needs to be recharged.

This is such a good thread, just had to throw that out there. I guess I'm just simple in this matter. I like the ability to throw more or less volts at a coil depending on how it's performing, what juice is being dripped etc. A .7ohm dual coil setup is my favorite. I'm always using mechs because there aren't any VV mods firing those coils. That leaves no ability to dial in sub ohm coils without dialing in the coil itself for the most part. Like I said I'm simple, just need to fire a .7ohm coil on a VV device. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well, yes, but the point still stands. What's the difference on an RDA between 0.5Ω at 30 watts and a 2Ω at 30 watts?

Sorry to be blunt but basically everything in your previous post misses the point....thats the point. This device is made for people who do subohm vaping....these are the people who actually need 30 watts to push their coils. These are the people who want to experience sub ohm vaping in a regulated device for the first time. Why would anyone buy this device if they are running their Nautilus or whatever on the Provari or Vamo and they never go above 15 watts. Most people who vape 1.8ohm coils don't even go above 12 watts....that is why the MVP2 is so popular. Vaping a Protank, Nautilus etc using their head that range 1.6-2.5ohms at 30watts would be unvapeable....it would completely obliterate any juice you put into the tank.

Read my previous post #638 in this thread and follow the link provided their it will give better explanation than I can.

Exactly. A regulated 30 watts would be epic.

Maybe I don't understand, but what that post never mentioned, and this seems pretty important, is if, given a specific resistance, the 28ga wire gets hotter than the 32ga. Because if it doesn't, the question becomes one of the mass of the wire being heated up and the speed at which that happens.

I know that a 0.7Ω coil made of double-twisted 32ga (four strands of wire) took forever to heat up, but, once it was hot, didn't seem to be any hotter or cooler than a 0.7Ω coil of single strand 28ga. Now, the 28ga had more wraps on the wick, and therefore more surface area to create vapor, but I haven't noticed a major difference between thickness of wires.

I cancelled my order with illvapes. I wrote them an email two days ago asking about the release date, no reply. I wrote them an email yesterday, no reply. I called them today and when I asked who their MFG was, they said they didn't know. Why is it that they have a different date from everyone else? I can't trust a vendor if they don't know who they buy product from

Welp, I just bought a vapor shark. And they shipped it an hour later. I am still keeping my ill vapes orders. But after todays info I am really starting to think anything below 2.8 isn't going to work as the original dna's do. Based on the Fasttech forum and the clouper video both reference the 2.8 ohm. Not a secure feeling.

That's based on just a review of a HOTCIG clone. It's most likely not cloupor so it could be just a knock off of a knock off.

The video doesn't show any evidence regarding the 2.8ohm, actually, the atomizer there is 2.6ohm as well
