I usually run my cyclone with AFC dual coil at .5ohm, slots wide open, and get amazing results. My current build is at .41ohms and it isn't performing as well, eats through juice and snaps/pops too much for a good smooth vape so I'm going to tear it down and rebuild it. Standard cotton ball wick work great but the Ko Gen Doh is soooo clean and offers a crisper flavor IMO.
Thank you! Now I'm trying to figure out what the wire is below the coil on the left. But, it's working fine. I kinda don't feel like pulling the wick and all out. Just hoping I trimmed that before I wicked it lol.
. That's the right leg extension. prolly best to bend it up next time

Great looking coils... As super_X said, its the leg from the coil on the opposite side. You really want those all bent upward against the post though. Just so they don't touch the deck or cap. You might also in the future when you do coils again on it, try to get the coils a little closer to the edge of the deck and slightly angle the coil with the positive leg a little longer than the negative. It puts it straight up against the air hole in the top cap. Not sure if that made sense or not, but I will try to get a pic posted of what I am talking about. It will vape better...

On most dual coil atty's, the air holes are directly across from each other in the top cap. Because of how the AFC holes are milled on the Cyclone AFC cap it helps to square the coil to the air source. The Cyclone AFC holes aren't straight across from each other because of the 2 post design.
AHA, you are correct sir! I always thought it was a strange placement but made it work since the coils were so close to one side of the deck anyway (only 2 posts don't cha know). Makes perfect sense, maybe that's why this current build is...meh. Every other has been rock solid at .5, this one is .4 wicked with Ko Gen Doh and I'm not loving it.
This is a clone, but:
triple twisted 7 or 8 wrap coil with a 1.5mm airhole is my sweet spot on these [or the clone]
easy to do with a drill to twist up 3 lengths of 30 gauge wire, just watch out for hot spots and dry burn when you set her up, then dry burn some more, and then go again just be extra sure

Here is a pic I took a while back that kinda shows what I meant by leaving the +leg a little longer to square the coil to the air hole... I will take some top view pics later and post them.
I remember when you first posted that. I thought it was kinda odd at first but it makes sense though. Only difference is you have to experiment with number of wraps to achieve what you want. Does it heat up slower than regular? I may have to try that out...
That particular pic was quad twisted, but I normally use a dual twisted and don't find any difference in heat up. I don't think that how the coil is mounted will make a difference on heat up. I mainly did it because it was bugging me having one really short tail on the wick.
I was originally pretty nervous about the positive wire shorting against the negative since they are going through the posts in different directions. When mounting the coil it is almost a pretzel shape to get the leads into the posts. I just cut the excess off the positive st the post, and leave a slight "belly" in the negative to keep them away from each other.
Re wicking is super easy, and it seems like the coil is a little more stable being anchored in both directions.
