I've been using a 510 with EcoPure liquid for about a month. Recently, two of my attys (which have never used anything else) have started clogging nearly immediately when I add juice. I've tried cleaning them by blowing and by soaking in Everclear over night. After a cleaning they seem better dry, but when I put on a new cart they clog up right away. I've tried blowing them out right away, but I don't get much liquid out of them so they're not flooded. Any ideas on how I might clean them out? Are my attys dying?

Hi,

I don't own a 510 but do have a 901 and 801 and that is what I experience after weeks of use.

I believe (based on all I've read here) that this the is the "gunk" building up on the atty coil wire that is difficult if not impossible to remove - even after cleaning.

As for dying, much of my experience and readings indicate they're on that path.

I've come to believe it is an unavoidable situation with any/all attys.

sadly no atomizer last's forever :-(, I switched to Ecopure after having problems with PG and have not had any clogging problems with it. I don't soak them, just add a couple of drops of distilled water once a week and burn it out a few seconds. I must be lucky, both of my first 510 attys are going strong with just Eco used in them. Of course its always good to have backups, just in case.

I would describe your atomizer condition as perfectly normal. They do clog with usage. I have been using Ecopure on one of my atomizers for about that length of time and it's still going. strong. I don't think that the juice is your problem. Be careful flaming a brand or vendor in your post title.

As others have said, atomizers clog. That's their nature. I've been using ECO pure for a long time and none of my atomizers have clogged any quicker than with any other liquid, except for Johnson Creek. The JC stuff seems a lot thicker than other liquids (haven't tried their new formula yet, though, so it may be that their liquid works better now.) From my POV ECOpure is actually a tad bit less likely to clog than some of the others.

The difference between 510's and other attys is that a burn does a lot less good then the others. I can see no bright red glow within the 510 which is obvious with others. It may or may not get as hot as others, I had one on a box mod that accidentaly got closed in my breifcase. It pressed the button and I realized where it must have been after about two minutes. It took another minute getting to my car and opening my case. It stunk to high heaven and burned up all the juice as well as melting the connector out of the plastic box. A good soaking and a few carts later the taste was gone and it still worked pretty good. Had it been any other atty a three minute burn would have been fatal.

OK, back to the original issue. I recommend soaking in alcohol for longer than one night. I have found that longer soaks are sometimes required. I have soaked sometimes 3 to 4 days with good results. Alcohol is a good solvent for PG & VG.

Your atty must be flooded. I can get my 510 atomizers to glow easily when they're getting a little dry. The Prodigy in particular will make them glow like the surface of the sun if I'm not careful. If anything, I think the 510s burn hotter than the 801 and 4081 atomizers I have.

OK, I have two that are pretty gunked up. We'll give them a good long soak. Thanks
