I made a mistake and posted this is the wrong section.

So after clenaing my first atty with the PT method (take piece of paper towel and stick it in the atty upside down so it drains). i think the 2nd time is went dead (so i thinK). i just thought it died, ordered a new atty got it 2 weeks ago. cleaned it same method and now its done. Before i order a new atty, is this truly dead? It doesnt burn or anything, no sound at all or heat. All i did was draing it into the PT.

Help is appreciated greatly

I've never heard of the the paper towel method of cleaning an atty. I did see that someone used paper towel to dry cartos after cleaning, but that's a whole other story.

The most popular methods to clean atomizers seem to be to soak in PGA, vodka, or hot distilled water or forcing hot distilled water through the atty with a syringe. Some use the ultrasonic jewelry cleaners, denture tablets or even vinegar and baking soda. All methods require that they be blown out well and left to dry overnight.

I would try the hot water flush and/or soak them in PGA or vodka and blow them out well. If using the hot water, wait until it cools, blow them out and then test them by dipping them into the water and hold them (thread side down) and if the water runs through it freely, the gunk is out. Blow out again and leave to dry overnight (I stand them up). It's not a guarantee that the atty will work again, but it's worth a try.

J,

If you've tested it with a volt meter and it registers as fine, then try this:

Check the atty and see if the post has been pushed in too far. That can happen if you overly tighten them. I've been doing it lately and I don't know how I do it! I've been vaping for 9 months and didn't do it for 8 of those months! LOL

To fix, you take a paper clip or the tine of a fork and put it in the tiny hole in the center - the end of the atty that has the screw threads. You gently lift it a hair. I spin the atty and then lift the other side too. While lifting, you will see the white rubber gasket. Don't lift it too much or you will break it!

If you hold the atty up close to your eye, you will see that the center post of the atty sits higher than the exterior casing is. I think I may be causing the center post to get pushed in by standing them up at night to drain. I just started doing that and I fear I am pushing them into a standing position and pushing the center part in. Either that or I am screwing the attys in like the Hulk would LOL!

Lori

Ps: Let us know if you need help with the voltmeter. I just bought one and learned how to test attys
