OK, got my V2 today, charged the batts, took a nap while they were charging, then woke up to a green light on the charger and decided to try this beast out. I put the stainless steel atty on (901 adapter and atty), put 4 drops of the Energee liquid in to try it out, got one puff off and... Next puff: nothing. Pulled the atty off and did the tongue test where I found that there is definitely a charge running through that post. Tried loosening the adapter, took it off, loosened the switch, put it back on, put stainless atty back on... Nothing. Tried more juice in the atty, nada. Decided to try my black atty before I tried fiddling with the adapter anymore. Put four drops in it and: TADA! It works! I will say that it sucks juice like it is going out of style though. Four drops has been working for about 3-4 puffs for me, tops. I know one of the big things with an HV mod is that you have to keep the attys wet, so at the first hint of burnt taste I have been throwing another 4 drops in. I am just wondering if it is possible to burn out a new atty that fast. Also, I noticed the 901 tips have a notch in them, does it matter how the notch is positioned in relationship to the atty? I have only used M401, 801, and M201 attys along with cartos before so I am wondering if that notch coulda knocked something off with the atty bridge or something since I didn't really pay attention the first time I put the tip back on. Thanks in advance.

Yes, this is my first non PT HV device and first time trying the 901 attys. I figured there would be a bit of a learning/adjustment period, I just have never had an atty go on me like that before. Even my 808 cartos usually last about a week (5-7 refills with my 3.7v mod) and in the five months since I started vaping, I have had only one 401 atty die on me and my 201 atty lasted 2 months on my 3.7v and I was using it fairly heavily with power going through it anywhere from 3-10s at a time (more as the batts got close to needing changed). Oh, well, "you live and learn" I guess. Good thing I am a fairly quick learner and have the helpful people who frequent this forum to help. ^_^

It may not have been anything you did or didn't do. Some attys are just bad from the start. I've been vaping since March and have a Prodigy V1 from the first run and still sometimes an atty will just die first or second puff or after a day or whatever. There is no consistency in the quality of these things. Best of luck with the rest of your attys! :)

Thanks! Unfortunately it is a sad fact that most places don't put the same quality into their products that Steve does. Plus from what I have seen on the board here he is very willing to bend over backwards to fix issues that do get by the quality control.

Edit: I am actually curious about the placement of the tip on the 901 relative to the the wicking mesh on the atty. If the tip can hit that at all because it looks like it really cuts it close, but as I said, first time with a 901 atty and I am curious. Plus I am a night person and most of the time am dripping by the ambient, comforting, and reassuring light from my computer monitor and I kinda hope I don't have to try to line up the tip in the dark.

Anyone having problems with a RN4072 atomizer on the 801 adapter for the prodigy v2 ??? I cant get it to screw down far enough...yet my SLB 801 attys work fine...
I actually got the 510 adapter with my V2, but using a 510->801 atty adapter works great with my RN4072. In case you ever decide to get a 510 or 901 PS adapter, its an option for your 4072.

Steve,
I saw your video where you tested the volts for the V2 with and without a load. 6 volts is 6 volts, your test showed the volts with a load just over 5, I would think any 6 volt mod would produce the same result, I could be wrong.

My thought is maybe use a different metal other then a great conductor like copper for the positive post. Maybe try something like lead or some other less conductive metal (I know the lead may not be popular with some people but it may work out if explained in detail) to reduce the voltage.

I just started vaping and before I even received my first 901 starter kit I was thinking about making my own device. I then saw your devices and said WOW why would I create something when your devices are just what I wanted and just what I would try and create!!! That’s why I bought the Protégé.

Again I could be totally off base with all of this, but I’m just thinking on how to make this a true 5 volt device without a resistor.
