I can't post in the Pay it forward forum yet, but
anyway.....
It has happened to me once and was easily removed with
an extension magnet, one of those that you use
to retrieve nuts, bolts, washers and such
in the automotive field.

Sounds like you need one of those sink drain grates/screens. About $2.50 at Walmart.

I have one but just put it in the dishwasher to clean it! What luck!!

I got it out with a magnet!!
