atty not fitting my ego

I have the ego xl and bought a couple Bauway 510 Atomizer, 2.5 ohms. The first I tried a week ago died after one and a half days while I was cleaning my originals, now I tried the other bauway last night and it wont work on my batt but it does work on the pt. Which makes me kind of wonder if the first atty might have not gotten a good connection to make it die. Looking at the atty's together with a magnifying glass it appears the latest atty is a smidge smaller, shorter on threads, is it possible to be something other than a 510 even tho it works on the pt? wouldnt be no big deal but they are the only two I have left till I get some in the mail anyday now and I am on day 8 of no analogs and the last of my originals is clogging or dieing. Can the posetive connection on the atty be extended or pulled out any? I just dont want to mess up the only good atty I have before I get more. Thanks for any help in advance, Scott

Yes, if done carefully. I got a set of dental picks for about 5 bucks and they work wonders for getting into small spaces and pulling and moving and such.
