when you are saying "good" and "fail" are you referring to good for the battery or good vapor production?

all i know is that the 2.0 EDMCC produces lackluster vapor. but the 1.5s are fantastic. could be a battery fail, but for now im living in vapor heaven. the only downside im experiencing (so far) is extremely short batt life. but it only takes an hour to charge from 2 bars to 5 on my vv ego...so thats not much of a downside imo.

oh wow. the way ive been using my egos sounds like mine are going to see an early grave. i think ive been pushing them to the limit. but i need to. now that ive tasted the sweet nectar of 1.5ohms theres no going back. if my egos break im going straight into VV mod land.

My thoughts exactly! Living life on the edge!!!

nice. glad to hear the 1.7-2.2s are working well. are you getting plumes of vapor? i assume you are.

my 808 Ego cant handle the Mega XL 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos anymore. (these Mega XL 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizer for KR808 ) it used to just fine but one day out of the blue it woudl cut power after a 1 second drag and would become disabled for a few seconds afterwards. i thought it was due to the carto getting old and the resistance lowering. but i tried a brand new XL KR8 carto and it wouldnt work either. but the regular KR8 cartos still work perfectly. im gonna try some Boge 2.0s next. it should be able to handle those.

I got a Smoktech ego kit around June last year with some CE2 Clearos. I rocked those for a while since I couldn't get the included atty/carts to work satisfactorily. About a month later I was hooked on the EMDCCs (and bought an extra batt). I was using those up until last month. I've been trying out the 3.5ml tanks from Madvapes. They're ok - easy to use and haven't leaked a drop, but they don't seem to last as long as the EMDCCs for whatever reason. My tanks are going on the shelf as soon as the next shipment gets here with more EMDCCs.

As for batt life - almost 6 months of using dual coil cartos on my three batts almost exclusively. No catastrophic failures at all, but I did notice they had to be charged a little more frequently. And just in the past month, I'm seeing a further drop in performance. Meaning, on heavy vaping days, I'm probably charging all three at least once a day. It's probably time to retire them and upgrade to a mod, lol... Or just buy a couple more batts and keep rockin the EMDCCs :D

Hey guys....you should really check this out.....

Electronic Cigarette - Cartomizers - Smok Tech Cartomizers

It's the third product down. Smoktech Ego cartomizer/single coil

I've been looking for something like this for a while. It's a SINGLE 2.0 ohm coil, stuck inside an emdcc body. You get better battery life, a hotter coil (compared to 1.5 dual coil mega), and awesome liquid capacity. Kind of similar to a boge 2.0 in performance, but much larger capacity obviously.

The EMDCC 1.5 definitely drains my 650 battery WAY too fast. It lasts maybe 3 hours if I'm lucky. A standard single coil 2 to 3 ohms lasts anywhere from 6 to 9 hours, so I know the battery is good otherwise. It's also a little underpowered for the dual coil ego.

I have a vv box that I use with the standard emdcc and it works great (4 to 5 volts). The single coil seems like the ticket for the ego battery though.

These aren't being mass produced....that's why I hadn't found them very easily. Liberty flights is special ordering these for the time being. They have only been available for a couple of months as well. If they catch on, I'm sure smoktech would consider officially adding them to their lineup.

do they come in less then 4mL anywhere? thats a lot of liquid and it would take me lots of time to get through them?
Can they easily be capped and kept for a later time and cause no problems?
I would probly use it for traveling because dripping is difficult.
they seem like a perfect thing for my ego though and im deffently intrested

With this particular style, that's the only size. The opening on top is so big, you can almost "pour" the liquid in large bursts to fill it, and the filler is not too tight, so it soaks in pretty quick. In other words, filling is pretty quick and easy. It holds so much liquid that it will last about 4 times longer than a regular carto. As of now, there is no way to seal the ends off, like a regular carto with the rubber ends, so you probably couldn't store it for too long with juice in it. (Well, you could, but it 'might' evaporate a little bit). I tend to look at this as an awesome solution to your favorite all day juice, not having to carry around or drip anything throughout the day.

If you're handy, you can put just about any 510 guts into an EMDCC. Not exactly an easy ordeal, but the threaded connector part is a separate piece from the outer housing and is almost the exact same size as most other 510 bases. The clear EMDCCs would be the easiest to work with since the tube is easily removable.

The one on the left is from a CE2 (clearo), the right is from an EMDCC

Getting it back together without leaking AND working properly would probably more of a PITA than what it's worth though. I've only done a clearo swap (with just ok results); so I can't really comment on how well any other DIY swap would work.

using ohmes law calculator...

3.4 v gives more power with the 1.7 then the duel coil. (3.2)
Ohm's Law Calculator

The EMDCC is 1.6ohm, not 3.2ohm. Two 3.2 ohm coils run in parallel giving a total resistance of approximately 1.6 ohms
3.4v with a 1.7 ohm Resurrector = 6.8 watts
3.4v with a EMDCC = 7.225 watts

More power(watts) from the EMDCC setup.

1.5 are HIGHLY NOT SUGGESTED for ego batteries.

I have been using 1.5ohm attys on my 3 eGo 650mah batts for more than a year now with no noticeable decrease in performance. They all still work fine. The eGo 900mah and higher batts are better when using DCCs. More mah, more vaping time before recharge.

using ohmes law and calculator...
a 2.0ohm on 3.4v battery = 5.78 watt power
the duel coil ego = 3.8 watt

Because the EMDCCs are 1.6ohm not 3.2ohm, the wattage would be 7.225 watts.

Ohm's Law Calculator

type in voltage and resistance ... then calculate...
higher power is better
sweet spot normally between 8-10
the closest you get... the warmer and tastier your vape...
BUT!!! -- Over 10 = burnt

and never have your power lower then amps
and depending on your battery, you may not want to go above a certain amp because it will fry the atomizers

like ego 3.4v (standard) with boge 2.0 LR = 5.78watts = good
ego 3.4v(standard) with 1.5ohm atty/carto = (current -- 2.2)= fail

You are comparing watts/power(5.78watts) on the Boge 2.0 setup to current/amps(2.2amps) for a 1.5ohm setup. Need to compare apples to apples.
A 1.5ohm setup with a 3.4v eGo would produce 7.7 watts. Very close to you 8-10 watt preference range. Much higher than the 5.78 watts with the Boge.

1.5 on regular ego marketed at 3.7 but actually 3.4v end up shortening the life of batteries by a lot
That has not been the case for me. 15 months of only LR(1.5) use on 3 eGo batts, not a single flaw or failure. YMMV.

when i first saw someone using the calculator they said you had to double the resistance even if it duel coil...
and many people have complained about 1.5 ohm stuff (not duel) on their ego batteries

A 1.5 ohm dual coil doesn't produce as much heat as a 1.5 ohm single coil. I realize that the resistance is the same, but there is still physically TWO 3 ohm coils on the dual coil. The same voltage isn't going to heat up both 3 ohm coils the same as is does the single 1.5 ohm coil. Dual coils have more vapor/surface area, but at the same resistance, when comparing the single and dual coils, the head of the element are not reaching the same temperatures. You're delivering X watts to one resistance versus two. When you deliver X amount of watts to a single coil, it ALL goes there at 1.5. When you deliver X amount of watts to a dual coil, yes, they receive the same power, but remember they are both 3 ohm coils, so they will each get less hot than the single coil.

Many websites have even said that it burns cooler, and also many run dual coils at higher volts because the coils can take it.

im still iffy about getting the EMDCC for my ego 650mah 3.4v battery,
I think ive concluded to go with the 2.4-2.6ohm fluxomizers from gotvapes (everyone saids excellent things about them)

Just a helpful suggestion: try 1 and know that many things are going to barely work or not work at all. You can get a pretty expensive junk drawer quickly, and there are no returns/refunds. As a contrast, the EMDCC is the least "iffy" carto on the market with tons of happy users. While you're thinking about things, buy 1 EMDCC also and give it a try so you can see why so many people like them. Compare your 1 EMDCC to any other 1 each and go from there, just don't buy 5 and find out they just aren't going to work. If you saw my junk drawer, you would understand why I gave this hopefully helpful suggestion.

You ought to try the emdcc 'single coil' version from liberty flights. Ton's o' juice, ONE 2 ohm coil. :2cool:

BTW, the emdcc does work quite well on the 650 ego. It just has a little less battery life. Remember, the emdcc was made specifically for the ego battery, so it can't be THAT bad :p
