Ok, anyone and everyone can feel free to correct me if I am wrong on this stuff. 'specially cuz I'm such a newbie at this. However, I had a Sherlock Holmes moment today and learned a valuable lesson.
My brand new 510 atty wasn't putting out the gobs of vapor today that it was last night when I first opened it. Oh sure, the vapor was fine going in...but after a trip through my respiratory system, no vapor at all. My blowing smoke ring days were over. No! I couldn't accept this travesty! So I put on my Sherlock Holmes hat and off I went, sluething my way back to vaping paradise. I tried changing juices, changing batteries...no luck. Then I changed attys. Aha! Elementary, my dear Watson! Problem found. Now what?
So, off I went to clean the little bugger...even though I had been using it less than 24 hours. A flush with atty cleaner and a rinse under hot water is all I use to clean my attys and it works great. Of course, there is the whole blowing out the water and heating it up afterwards. Therein lies the problem.
When I went to blow it out, I noticed that it was like blowing through a straw. I blew through one of my other attys and noticed that it was like blowing through a pencil. I was ready to form a hypothesis. Too much air was getting mixed into the vapor I was pulling into my mouth. After being mixed with the air in my body, it was too much for the vapor to handle and it disappeared on the exhale.
So what have we learned today boys and girls? Too much air makes smoke rings sad. Further, if you can suck a milshake through your atty it's probably time for a new atty.
This concludes our lesson for today. I've already placed an order for new attys.
