The Rich Young Ruler: Superficial or Supernatural

When you look at the following passage of Scripture, as yourself honestly and sincerely: do I truly know the Lord? Do I have a form of religion or do I truly know the power of Jesus Christ in my life? Am I superficial Christian or supernatural Christian?

Mark 10:17-27

And when He was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to Him, and asked Him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou Me good? There is none good but One, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honor thy father and mother. And he answered and said unto Him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow Me. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. And Jesus look round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God? And the disciples were astonished at His words.

But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

This young man had five qualities going for him. First of all, he was eager. The Scripture says he came running, not like so many spiritual dullards of our day. This young man came in the strength of youth and enthusiasm. He just came running up to the Lord Jesus Christ.

He was not only eager, he was humble, as well. He bowed before Jesus who was not standing in the corner: He was out on the highway. And here came the young man running to Christ bowing in His path.

    No you can't
So far I understand this much,

    1. Jesus when He said Cross was meaning trust in God 100%, that can be seen with Jesus though all His faith in God.
    2. Jesus is telling us what is needed to go through the door way into heaven, 100% commitment to God and only a few will find it. "How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God?"

Jesus speaks on this through The Parable of the Sower found in (Mark 4:1-9; Luke 8:4-15)

Saying we trust in God is one thing, but what actions can be found in us that gives proof?

If God told me to do a certain thing and I wasn't sure it came from God the reason is unimportant, and didn't do it, I'm I trusting in God or looking for excuse not to?

The first time I trust God 100% was when He told me where to go to know about Him, at that time I didn't even know there was a thing called being saved or comprehend what was happening to me or who was God, I was truly lost all I knew I heard something inside of me that said go here and you will find out about Me and yet somehow I knew that was GOD, I yearned and hungered to do what I was told me. Now I understand though back then it was weird to me but I did it, not knowing why, I was really really really drawn to obey and at that time didn't know I was obeying God Himself a one on one God that has a personal relationship with me.

From what I understand now, I learned and entered through the doorway which is acceptance of the free gift God supplied TO ME with payment for all all all all all my disobedience through out my physical life on this planet made for us and Jesus supplied it by DOING the will of the father (GOD - CREATOR OF ALL THINGS) I am so thankful to God and His Son Jesus. This I believe is the cross Jesus was talking about in the Parable of the Sower found in (Mark 4:1-9; Luke 8:4-15) - Because after that I see the Holy Spirit is in me doing a good work in me for it is not me but Him whom is doing it. God gave me the gift that keeps giving, yesterday I was told and shown how Magnificent God is, I've been meditating on what God said to Moses, "I AM THAT I AM".

    Mark 4:1-9 Wycliffe Bible (WYC)

4 And again Jesus began to teach at the sea; and much people [and much company of people] was gathered to him, so that he went into a boat, and sat in the sea, and all the people [and all the company of people] was about the sea on the land.

2 And he taught them in parables many things. And he said to them in his teaching,

3 Hear ye. Lo! a man sowing goeth out to sow. [Hear ye. Lo! a sower went out to sow.]

4 And while he soweth, some seed felled about the way, and birds of heaven came, and ate it.[a]

5 Other [Forsooth another] felled down on stony places, where it had not much earth; and at once it sprang up, for it had not deepness of earth [and anon it sprang up, for it had no deepness of earth].

6 And when the sun rose up, it withered for heat, and it dried up, for it had no root.

7 And other felled down into thorns [And another felled down among thorns], and [the] thorns sprang up, and strangled it, and it gave no fruit.

8 And other felled down into good land, and gave fruit, springing up, and waxing; and one brought thirtyfold, and one sixtyfold, and one an hundredfold.

9 And he said, He that hath ears of hearing, hear he. [And he said, He that hath ears to hear, hear.]

This is Jesus' way of saying, and I paraphrase, "HEY FOLKS! THIS IS IMPORTANT.....LISTEN UP!" Just like 'Verily verily I say unto you....' It's like sitting in a classroom and the teacher says, "Write this down! It's important!" Same thing as this. :)

Greed and selfishness is the first sign of evil that is the easiest to discern, and the hardest for evil people to hide. Servants of our Lord Jesus Christ trust in Him no matter what life throws at us or what circumstance we may find ourselves in.
If I were walking down the road penniless and ragged with no home to go to, I would praise The Lord, knowing that He would protect me and provide for me. And if it was His will that I leave this tabernacle, I will praise The Lord with my last breath.
