So. A full day using this tank and having a tinker. I like a tight draw and this is a mtl tank but I encountered the same limitations as Klaus Jedelsky did using the 1.8mm centre pin. Shutting airflow to where I like it causes an annoying whistle and the vape gets too hot for me. I had vapers tongue last night for the first time in years, so today I tried the 1.2mm pin.

That pin works set to tight without squeaking or whistling. I tried it from full open to nearly chocked off and found no whistle. Still a warmer than desired vape though so I changed my coil. From 28 gauge, 2mm id, 8 wraps, I just went down to 6 wraps and it's working well. Klaus went down to 30 gauge wire but I will likely stick with 28 gauge.

So 28 gauge, 2mm id, 6 wraps, circa 1 Ohm and vaping lovely between 11 and 12 watts. Flavour is abundant and I'm set as tight as a Berserker mini 1.5. Currently vaping FA RY4 Nutzila. Very nice indeed. I like it. It's a flavour monster.

I'm confident this rta can sit side by side with my Berserker minis.

Here's Klaus describing the same issues I found and how he fixed them.

Consider using a different drip tip. Those stock steel ones get warm.

Thought I should pass along a great deal...

Roadside Vapes has a 20% off sale going on for everything in stock. This includes the KFL19. Code = 9219
Kayfun Lite 2019 RTA by Svoe Mesto (Authentic)

At $89.95 20% off brings it to $71.96. Can't say I've ever seen authentic Kayfun's on sale.

Not even I could pass that deal up ($75.45 w/sh). Ha, good things do come to those who wait. ;)

Roadside Vapes is a solid company. Myself and many others here have had good experiences with them.
They also have many HQ mech's if that's your thing.

Nice to hear that Roadside Vapes is "a solid company". I'd never heard of them and was a bit leary of placing an order. after seeing this deal posted in another thread. But a few nights ago, I couldn't resist, and ordered another one from them. I've never seen Svoe products discounted anywhere before. It's a shame they didn't have any K19 add-ons, I like using the K19 in 'Long Mode'.

At the time it must have been the last inventory item they had listed on their website, because after placing the order I went back to the item listing and it then showed out of stock.

Just a few minutes ago, I looked again, and it's now showing as in stock. That either got more in, or checked their inventory and had more not listed on their website.

My journey to the nKFL was long. I ordered one the night they were released. They sold out. Mine was back ordered. In July I was told "soon". Soon never happened. I cancelled the order. That's the short version. Bronze knows the story well.

Then I came across the LD sale at Roadside Vapes. Duh, no brainer for that price. Kayfun's never go on sale. I placed my order on the 28th and received the nKFL today.

Being a "Prime" styled deck and owning a couple Prime's it's super easy to setup. Crap I could likely set one up blindfolded. I waited, I have, I like. The End. :p

I was hoping Roadside had accessories too. Those I bought from Origin Vape which is another solid company. I bought all my Prime's from them. Yep, me too and have a couple long mode tanks on the way. Also grabbed a couple of the regular tank sections for the emergency stash.

I posted Roadside's LD sale info and specifically about the KFL19 in a few different threads so it wouldn't surprise me if ECF buys them out. The only other place I know, besides Origin, that you can get accessories from is Dicodes-USA but they charge more than everyone else for everything.

For anyone who has been in direct contact with SvoeMesto, could you please pass along the email address?

Couldn’t make sense of their website...

I’ve got a Batch 1 nKFL that doesn’t have an insulator around the center pin.

I saw this when I took the deck off the base, and found just an O-ring installed.

All of my later nKFLs have an insulator there.

I’d like to get those insulators, to make this unit complete!

Thanks in advance!

I contacted them through Facebook Messenger at the SvoëMesto page ( Log into Facebook | Facebook ) and Eric responded quite quickly.

Otherwise you could try emailing them at support@svoemesto.de.

I forgot something. If anyone is having gurgling using smaller length coils because of juice leaking into the airflow, try installing the coil upside down ie coil legs on top. Works a treat and makes wicking less of a chore.
It does solve some issues although its slightly harder to install it

Yeah but I turned the power down as the 6 wraps heats up quicker.
I gotcha...I though perhaps you lowered the wattage because wattage equal, I would of thought the lower resistance coil would be a tad warmer...that's why rebuilding is soo cool, many options

I have my coil much lower than that. Installed with legs up it can go right down near the air hole which also helps with cooling. Thinking about it now I will go back to my original 8 wraps installed with legs up, which I haven't yet tried.
I actually never wicked that particular coil, it was just a pick that I was going insert in a vape video, so I might not of measured the distance from air hole. I did have one installed and wicked a couple months back and it worked out really good . I always use 1.2 to 1.5 mm above air hole, for me it gives the perfect flavor to TH ratio.

@Tabac man ... "me too" am one of the few who think the nKFL vapes warmer than any of my other Kayfuns (original Lite, V4, V5, V3, and Prime. Maybe because I like a cool vape compared to other vapers to begin with. I've found a happy spot after trying some different coils and changing the drip tip to a V5 tip with either the 7mm or 9.5mm delrin top on it.

My standard build/vape for years has been:

29 awg Kanthal (yes, 29, not a typo)
2.5 mm id w/ 7 wraps
1.7Ω
10 watts (4.2 volts)
150 mW/mm↑2 (Heat Flux)

Using that ^ initially w/ the nKFL gave me the impression of 'somewhat/a bit' too warm. (I don't really understand the science between Heat/Flux and temperature 'of the vape'. But the number comes up in the Steam-engines calculations.

Simplistically I just went by the old rule of thumb that raise the watts for a warmer vape / lower the watts for a cooler vape. So I tried going to 30 awg, thinking at lower watts it would heat up quicker and I'd have a cooler vape from the nKFL.

So I went to a 1.6Ω coil w/ 30 awg and dropped my watts to 7 or 8 and I was liking the vape better. Enough better to buy two more nKFLs; another 22mm and a 24mm to try out (yesh! what labour days sales have done to my bank balance)

Back to topic - To my surprise when I plugged my current nKFL build into Steam-Engine it 'looks' like I'm getting the same 'vape' as my long time standard build at lower watts based on 'Heat Flux'.

30 awg Kanthal
2.5 mm id w/ 6 wraps
1.6Ω
6.7 watts (3.3 volts)
150 mW/mm↑2 (Heat Flux)

So whatever this Heat Flux is all about I'm getting the same value with the 'new' build at much lower watts. Am I imagining it to be cooler or is it really cooler because I've turned down the watts basically from 10 watts to 7 watts. I don't know but sure seems better for me.

Yeah I'm with you. When I suck the vapour direct to my tongue I can burn my tongue. No other rta I own does that, with my builds. That's my heat flux meter.

This guy went down pretty much the exact same route you have.
