I run all 3 of my prime’s in extended mode and don’t notice any difference in flavor myself.

I have all 3 of my Prime’s going at the same time, and rewick them once a week, they probably would last longer, but it is my routine to clean and rewick at weekends, if need to or not.

The Prime was the 1st authentic kayfun I had bought, but liked it so much, decided to try the V3 and V5, which I scored off the classifieds, but for me, I still preferred the Prime, so didn’t eat for week and bought 2 more Primes’s :D

I never have leaking or dry hits with the prime, and don’t think they hard to wick them when know what they like, I find less is more with the Prime, once I got my wick through the coil, I fluff it up and cut off about 50% of the wick before lightly stuffing in the wick, if it feels tight to put cotton in, then will cut some more off.

There is a bit of learning curve to the Prime, but once mastered, it is a great vape and worth every penny :)

Let me, please, ask the question here: is it the Prime's airflow or taste that attracts everyone, or something else I'm missing? And do most folks run it in normal or extended mode? And in extended mode do people find a reduction in taste? I'm curious because all of the discussion on ECF it seems is about the Prime and not the others, or maybe I just not looking in the right place?

I have been blessed to acquire quite a few authentic Kayfuns. However, I am very, very far from a good builder, despite expert help several months ago from one of the members here.

A few weeks ago I decided to build a V4, a Prime, a V5 and a V5.2 aka Squared, which is a beast! I used the same 1.5ohm pre-built coils, but different cotton on some, and the same juice with each. I put a couple on Radii, one on the standard JAC 75 and the V5.2 on a JAC Sandstorm. Watts were 12 to 14, depending on what felt right.

I order to get the airflow open enough I removed the airflow screw from the V4. The Prime I ran wide-open. The V5 and V5.2 were set to the airflow one step down from open.

The taste on the V4 was different from the others, which were all about the same. Its taste was not bad, just different from the others and from what I've been used to with Kabukis, Zeniths and eGo ONE Mega V2s aka Eggrolls.

The difficulty for me was getting the wicking correct. That took several tries on all of them, but eventually I got it to where I was having no issues.

I did not vape the V4 long before washing it out and putting it on back on the shelf. I never figured it to be a long-term player. I just wanted more than anything else to compare it to the others. From a looks perspective I like it the best of any of them.

The others I used hard for a couple of weeks before I decided they probably needed to at least have the wicks replaced. All of them were really, really nasty, so much so in fact that I pulled the coils and washed all of them. And there was lots of gunk at the top off the bells that was difficult to remove. My juice, Space Jam Eclipse, is a coil gunker, but I've never noticed anything this bad before.

Since my time is sort off limited right now, I just went back to my standard Kabukis, etc.

For me and my poor build skills, somewhat due to bad thumb joints, the V5 and V5.2 were easier to build and to wick. However, their insides were also nastier than the Prime.

So when I finally get back to having fun with my Kayfuns, should I just stick to the Prime or also give the others a try again? I'd rather spend a little more time in the build process then have to wash out more often. Thanks, guys, any advice much appreciated.
If you like the af on the prime, just stick with it. You won't find better flavor on the others imo. If you prefer more af, then perhaps stick with the v5's. I also agree that I don't find anymore gunking with the prime then the others, but I definitely rewick less the 2 weeks. I probably get between 10 to 15mls on a rewick and that's with net tobacco's, but very clean nets.

OT for @vapdivrr - Did you ever settle on a pod system? I've been curious.
No, not yet....she wanted something a little smaller and thought a pod would fit, but after looking at a few, she lost interest. I think I'm going to buy one for her as a stocking stuffer for Christmas, just to see if she will enjoy it, but still haven't decided which one

As much as I hate to love it, the JUUL really is a great pod system.

    You also have this option:

It’s a 19mm adapter than lets you use JUUL pods on top of a regular 510 mod.

    Works pretty nicely.

    5Watts for JUUL pods
    8Watts for Phix pods

    Simple!

i do find a difference in taste with the extended glass on the prime, there's just to much liquid and space to give me the concentrated vape and taste i like,on the other hand i recently moved to the PEI kit and i couldn't be more satisfied;it has the perfect amount of liquid and i don't have to fill it so often,i really like the looks of it and don't need to worry about the glass braking.
about gunking,i use NETs so it gunks up really fast.

I instinctively gave you a "like" for ingenuity but regret it now. It's like a funeral director wearing white socks or writing a begging letter to your bank manager using colo(u)red crayons. Infra dignitatem comes to mind. (I have shares in Google.):D

Pretty cool! I think the juul might be the best option...do you refill them, or don't bother?

I just had to give a big Shout Out to Vapdivrr and a big thank you! After watching your wicking video 3 times I have my KF Prime working like a beast! I'm using it on SS TC and wow, I just can't believe the flavour I'm getting now, specially with SS and proper wicking it's just the most awesome tank. It's also my first rta so nothing to compare with, but I do have a berserker and Dvarw on the way lol

Again Thank you so much for that great Prime build video Sir :)

Yeah pods definitely have their place, I started on a Breeze 2 and found out quickly it wasn't working great for me, so I ordered a Kroma A / Zenith kit which I found was more satisfying, but some of the juices just tasted muted and not very good. I started reading about this KF thing and I'm so glad I ordered one! I've been using it for 3 weeks now and whoa! The flavour is unbelievable. I haven't touched the breeze or zenith tank since. LOL

Now that I have the build down pat because of you (thank you) it's just the best flavour ever. I've been using it on my korma mod but now am thinking of the dna75c, sounds like a good fit to me.

Anyhow back to pods, I'd be very interested how that LV Orion does with the replay.

    Cheers mate :)
