As Thrasher has pointed out, many of us have researched these batteries and the companies that make/market them. The most recommended brands come from recognized leading manufacturers in Japan who actually make and market their own brands under their name. No batteries are created equal, and they sell their rejects to companies like Trustfire, Surefire, and Ultrafire who re-wrap these rejects under their own name. Bench tests of these batteries always show that they fail to live up to their advertised specifications.

There are many disreputable China companies who use rejected or older used batteries from laptops or other devices, re-wrap them and then sell them as a counterfeit brand name or as a generic battery. These are unsafe batteries to use in any kind of mod.

Therefore the recommendation to only buy brand name batteries (AW, Panasonic, Orbtronic, Sanyo, Samsung, Sony, etc) from authorized dealers like RTD Vapor, Orbtronics, Lighthound, etc.

Now this is a great response, much more helpful than just "don't"! Thanks Baditute (and just to add, I've read battery info post several times and found it to be really great)
