Today i was at my local vape shop, the sales guy said my batteries are unsafe for dripping and recommend i switch to the sony 18650 batteries. I told him that i have aw imr 18490 and 18650 . I'm currently using the 18490 in my mod. The battery that i'm using are the ones that provape sent when i ordered my provari.
I didn't buy the sony 18650 because i already have two aw 18650 and two 18490.

I'm using a single coil build it's reading 1.03 ohms
mod m16 clone

how many mah are your 18650s?

He's talking about sub ohming, not dripping in general. I use 2000mah 18650 aw imr's and run my omega and igo w at 1.0 ohm and from what I know it's safe. I wouldn't go under that with the 2000 mah, but aw makes a 1600mah that has a higher c rating.

So long as you are over 1 ohm your probably drawing less than 4 amps. Does not seem like it should be an issue but perhaps battitude has a better idea on this. Try messaging him.

^^ best advice is in bold.

The AW 18490 IMR 1100mAh battery is a pretty exceptional battery considering that it is rated 15C, meaning it has a 16 amp continuous discharge rating. Compare this to the Efest 18490 IMR 1100mAh battery with only an 8.8 amp rating.

Your AW 18490 IMR can easily handle a 1 ohm coil. Your local shop salesperson doesn't know what he's talking about. Andrew Wan (AW) himself confirmed this battery to have a 15C rating in the Candle Power flashlight forum.

Also OP states he is using a Provari correct me if I am wrong as I have not used one but do they not fire at under 1.2 ohm? If that is the case he should be fine. BUT better safe than toasty.
