Hey there :) Back vaping again after a few months back on rollies. Used to drip vape a regular old Ego with a modded LR atty (arch pushed aside and material removed for straight drip to coil). Worked great, good vape / flavour and didn't mind dripping.

Just got a Ego-t tank (650mah battery iirc) from a friend and its a bit crap to be honest. Using Halo menthol ice which i'm pretty sure is pg. Vape is there most drags but its very dry and flavourless with a tendency to not wick too well and produce a odd taste. Find I have to double or triple drag aswell. Have just read around as I'm not up to date on all the new options and ordered a 5 pack of Smoktech dual coil 2 ohm cartomisers and a drip tip.

Good move?

If you enjoyed that ^, you might like these bridgeless atties AERO 306 Bridgeless Atomizer - Avid Vaper Of course they are out of stock right now, but thought you might like to know they are available.
If you get tired of dripping on an atty but like the flavor the solution is a bottom feeder, IMO.

Thanks. Dont get as much choice as you guys in the US over this side of the world (Ireland), hence not being too up to date on all the various products and names. I did enjoy direct drip but also found I use quite a bit of liquid and tbh probably smoked too much this way. Would like to get a middle ground between what I used to vape and the crapness of the ego t. I dont need masses of vapour, I'm more concerned with true, good flavour. Hoping the fancy Smoktech carts can provide this.

Dual coil cartos are awesome especially if you own a mod. For eGo's they are okay but I prefer Boge 2ohm cartos. The dcc's are best at 5-6V in my opinion but I know a lot of people like them at lower voltages. In any case, you're heading in the right direction.

Definitely not up on all the lingo as most of that has me lost  What do you mean by 'own a mod' and volt ratings?

A mod is basically an ecig with a removable battery, and generally has longer battery life (larger mAh). The different voltages are for either higher voltage mods or variable voltage mods.

Cool, so my Ego manual battery is a mod yeah or do you only mean the big 1000 mah ones? How do you mod a battery to up the voltage?

No, your ego is not a mod. The battery itself is not removable - you charge the battery while it's still in its housing. With a mod, you take the battery out to charge it. There ARE eGo type variable voltage (VV) products. You could also get an eGo Boost (a part that connects to the battery) that will up the voltage, but it will definitely decrease battery life.

Oh ok  Doubt I'll go down the route of voltage boosters and what not as I was fine with a normal battery, quick atty mod and drip for over a year before.

Since I dont fancy going down the mod route do you think the Smoktech single coils would be the better choice (or dual but different ohm) ?

So my Smoktech dual coil 2 ohm cartomisers and a drip tip came this morning and to be honest no real improvement. Filled correctly and popped on a fresh battery. It actually seems like I get a better draw from the original atty and tank (but only if i pull the tank off and pop on again every few puffs)

What gives?
