It is tough to give a review on this without comparing it to the BackWoods Brew RY4. I'm not even going to try, so compare away. The first thing I noticed , there is no doubt that this is a descendant of the older classic. It does taste similar. The vanilla flavor in this is lighter, the old had a thick French like vanilla flavor. This is more like a lighter Mexican vanilla. The caramel is different as well, hard to put a finger exactly how it is different, slightly sweeter is the only thing I can say. I think the tobacco component is almost unchanged. It does benefit greatly from steeping. The older it gets the more blended & mellowed the flavors become. That is not to say it isn't good right out of the mailbox, but it definitely does get better with time. Is it as good, I think so, but you will just have to try it for yourself.
