is something wrong with my smok Z-Max Mini?? I was sitting here, having a vape and reading thru posts and I fired the Z-Max and got a shot of heat or electrical shock in my hand from the base of the Mini. I quickly shut it down and removed the batt. The batt wasn't hot but the base of the Mini was. This is the second time this has happened and I'm not sure if it's the same batt or not. I've installed a new batt and no problem yet. Anyone else ever have this happen? For now, I'm going to leave that batt out of the rotation and see if the heat/shock thing happens again. I hate the thought of trashing the Z-Max, the batt...not so much. Any replies appreciated!!

PS: Got a nice adrenaline rush out of it!!

Your description sounds like there's a problem (short?) with the ZMax.

I would like to think that the protective circuitry of the ZMax would have alerted you with an error code display, or at least shut itself down in the presence of a short. But with the battery not getting hot or even warm to touch, but the body of the ZMax getting hot to touch leads me to think the problem is with the ZMax.

Nothing that you can do about the ZMax unless it is still under warranty. Do do a visual inspection of it and your batteries for anything looking out of the ordinary.
