Mike started some tests..we got the first few results back. His exrays on his feet are good..his blood flow in his legs are O.K. That's the good news.
His Thyroid meds are out of whack AGAIN!
His P.S.A. count is up. That is prostate specific antigen. most men have a low count..but it becomes a matter of concern when it it high a few times in a row. It could mean just about anything from a benign tumor to cancer or just an inflamation. It is one more thing to watch.
His chest x-ray showed a dark spot..again anything from ols scar tissue to cancer, Most likely a damaged area due to Emphysema, which he knows he has...and still won't stop smoking! They will retest (x-ray) him again in 3 months. They did this with Mom for 3 years before the dark area got any larger and they did surgery for cancer.

All in all, not a lot of good news. Between his heart, back trouble and now his legs..he isn't going to be much help in the move. My head isn't in it either.
I do know that being in a smaller place will be good for him..less yard work to supervise. The grands will do it for us and less overhead in the house..once we are moved in. In a month he will also have medicare and tricare along with the V.A. to give him better and more choices in health care. The top heart care is at Tampa General..ranked 13th in the nation. It's where his triple by pass took place 13 years ago.

Oh MK another one with prayers, and good thoughts going out to you. I don't have any sugar free cookies, only a box of Zingers, not sugar free. Oh but Capella's double chocolate with a touch of Ez Sweetz makes a really nice sugar free vape.

You have my sympathy, I hate moving, and every time I do it, I swear why didn't I pay the extra money to have someone else pack and move my stuff for me. I wish I was closer I'd come help you out, I have a large van that can be filled with stuff too.

I'm sorry also, MK, that you didn't hear better results. But...they could have been worse, that's the thing to remember, which I'm sure you have.

As far as being married to a continuing smoker goes, for me, it was the reverse. My husband quit smoking in 1989 and begged me to quit for the next 21 years, but I wasn't able to until I found e-cigs this year..."better late than never" I say, even if it is a cliche.

I do hope your husband eventually stops. My older sister (a lifelong smoker) has just undergone triple bypass... just below her navel and in both sides of her groin; she is doing well now, but was in danger of losing both legs. If only we knew then, what we know now....

The moving thing stinks, I know...all my days recently have been spent weeding out and doing home improvements for our impending sale/move. I still hope it never happens, even though I know it will:(

You have my prayers, as well.

Mary, I am very sorry to hear of your husband's health problems. I will definitely keep him in my prayers, and you too. Caregivers need prayer also.

How high was his psa? My daddy's was in the 6 and 7's. The doctor said not to worry about it unless it gets much higher.....like in the mid 20's.

Sounds like a chocolate week......or year, maybe. :)

Mike can't remember the numbers..I will have to send him with a note book next time. His memory is swisscheese.

My husband does this all the time. One of his Dr.s just called him to tell him they didn't like a certain number in one of his blood tests. It has to do with his kidney's, I asked him what it was and at what level was it, he say's he doesn't remember. He is a diabetic so this information is a little important, why can't he just write it down.

I do hope you get some good news MK, I think you're about due.
