Bad Luck

Today has been a bad vaping day for me. It started with accidentally dropping my GGTS/ODY while loading my wheelchair to go pick someone up from work. When I took my Ody off for routine leak check I found I had partially broken my posative pin.

So I decided to throw on my UFS to use till I could figgure out what I wanted to do about this problem. Unfortunatly apparently I tightened my telescope to much and shorted my last atty out.

No biggie decided to throw on a carto. Filled it up put it in the UFS and filled it up apparently I didn't let the juice soak into the carto enough and had burned filling.

Second Carto was a DOA (first one in a while)

Finally on my 3rd try got it going.

Lesson learned. be more carefull when loading my wheelchair and use a battery spring. I am thinking if the batt spring had been in there ould have been enough play so that when it fell it wouldn't have broken the post.

Good news is that you've now officially gotten all of your GG incidents out of the way and you'll have a fantastic vaping week. Hopefully you can order a replacement pin for your Ody and be fixed up in no time.

I actually normally carry it in a bad on a chain around my neck so it isn't an issue. I was just trying to multi tack (load the chair and talk on the phone) so I wasn't paying much attention,

Yeah I lucked out and the pins are still in stock at COV so I have another on order.

Sorry to hear.

Connector pins are in stock @ COV right now. At least that's a plus to the situation.

You also might be able to fix yours.

A little shorter pin should not be a prob.

The only problem I see with re-using it is I don't know if the pin in my connector cap is long enough to make contact now. As it is the pin is almost flush with the metal nut (on the underside of the connector) I am going to play with it a bit later tonight when I have a chance to give it my full attention.

I'm actually very surprised that center pin broke like that and must be the 1 in a million exception... I have dropped my precious #773 on concrete at least 5 times and it always seems to land on the base cap first... I also run my setup without a spring as they annoy me terribly... but only once was the hit hard enough to break my coils NR wire... my original brass end cap and my new stainless cap both have scars from kissing the concrete but have held up wonderfully considering my abuse... I do say Carhartt shorts and pants have an awesome pocket perfect for GG users just dont mistake the hammer loop as the pocket not paying attention or your GG will kiss concrete like mine has...

I dropped 627 the other day and hit it the floor on the drip mode MP.

The whole mode was canted off to an angle and it took a pair of channel locks to remove from the stealth connector.

Needless to say, the new drip mode base arrived yesterday.

another big reason I wont use a 510 connection or any other mod but a GG anymore... since the GGTS/Ody base arrived it was a big game changer for me... and no more cheap Chinese short your rig adapters and is really the biggest reason I parted with my iAtty1...

Actually the connectors were fine both male and female, but was not fine was the tape I used on the channel lock jaws.

Lets just say I don't like deep scratches on my drip mode base and it is now a flawed spare.

The rest of the PV was unscathed. GG's are tough

Thanks for the offer but the base is fine it is just the pin that is messed up. And I am not sure if Bruce has actually dropped it off or whatever but I already have my tracking info.

Gotcha.. I still equate pins to bases. Regardless, I have idle ody parts. I if you, or any regular has a need, I can probably cover it.

I must say the pic confuses me.. I see an ody base on top of a tank.. I must be missing something.

The good news is I was able to grind off the other kinda pronged piece and it is working on my GGTS. I don't think that it will work with the 510 base since it is so short but it will work till my new pin gets here.

I broke a center pin last week as well
I was using 2 flat head screwdrivers to tighten the center post into the ceramic housing, and the one in the slit on the bottom of the center post just snapped at the divide. New one is already installed though, thank god for spares!

keep pin with pliers rw. That way you cant brake it

Yeah I basically just rounded off the pin by removing the second little pronged piece. It works well with the GGTS base buit losing that 1-2mm in length might be troublesome with either of the 510 bases (stock tank or dripping base) Probably won't work well in UFS mode either since there would be nothing to hold the little o-ring on but it is working and will be an ok backup when the replacement comes in.
